ps- I hate the police sentiment that there "nothing we can do". So what if they're teens, don't we still have juvenile detention centers? What the cop really means is that the city won't let them do their job because NOLA is a sanctuary city.

New Orleans is a shithole.

Most police departments actually do follow-up on these cases. The chances of you getting your shite back are slim to none, though.

I was thinking of the recent episode by the seminary.

Some of the cars had their windows broken, with nothing missing.

Seemed more like an FU type deal, than looking for something to steal.

1. I thought new cars came with an alarm system and if a window is broken or a door is opened when the vehicle is locked, then the horn starts blowing.

2. If this is not the case, then people need to start putting real alarms in their cars. I would think that a car alarm sounding off at 5:00am in the morning could possibly deter some of this crap???

To our fellow citizens that think we have too many incarcerated, this is yet another example that we don't have near enough people incarcerated.

Muh non-violent crimes!!

It’s repulsive liberals try to lump in property crime in with drug crimes. Property crimes should be dealt with harsher, if anything. Instead we have apathetic police because they know the prosecutors in the D.A’s offices are going to hand out a slap on the wrist.

Sanctuary cities are pushing "equity" policing. The goal is an equal amount of each race arrested.

The alarm doesn’t go off when the window is broken only when the doors open. A lot of times they arent opening the doors they’re breaking the windows and climbing in through the window. So the alarm doesn’t go off, however in my case they broke the window they jump through the window into my truck I have a motion sensor in my truck so once they got inside it set off the motion sensor and my alarm went off. not every vehicle has that, I think it’s a safety feature for vehicles Incase you leave your child in the vehicle

I actually agree although drugs and property crime rise and fall in the same arc.

They probably check for an alarm first if I'm guessing. They knew my sons truck doesn't sound alarm if window breaks so they smash glass and climb inside, never opening the door. There are scratches all over the door and trim from belt buckle or something like that (police said sees it constantly).

Not in this case it appears but generally speaking.

IMO property crimes should be prosecuted way more harshly because often times there is no victim. Drug dealers are simply satisfying a market. All parties involved are “in the game”

Stealing from an average Joe taxpayer just trying to make ends meet and go to a ball game every now and then is fricking pathetic.

This is blatant organized crime; maybe if a few more innocent people get killed it will Catch the attention of the FBI. Middle East or New Orleans East, full of creatures from Narnia.

Aggravated Assault

Shouldn't this be attempted murder?

This is how NOLA violent crime stats are no worse than Houston and Nashville.

There was a guy walking around trying to knock out random people in the FQ a while back and he was charged with a misdemeanor.

You may be right, but I like the idea of shooting two or three of them while they’re in the act. I think that would be a much bigger deterrent.

Trouble is, who wants to throw their Life away over some TPOS and a car burglary? Definitely time to amend some laws.

I think I'd leave a bunch of used hypodermic needles pointing up on my car seats each night.
