There’s a video of this shite bag being confronted at the scene. Walking around like no big deal, completely unconcerned that he just killed 5 people. Just on another planet. I hope they fry this dude.

I guarantee you that guy is a visa worker and will be on the first plane out of the country after he's released on bond. Amazon has been importing anyone out of the third world to get trained for a cdl and "buy" their own trucks with their own authority. When they destroy shite or kill people, they go home and can't be extradited. If you think I'm lying, just go to an Amazon distribution center and look at the truck drivers going in and out. They're all foreigners.

Amazon needs to be held accountable for this shite too. They're the absolute worst drivers on the road - most of them can't read or speak english and have zero clue how to operate a rig like a normal driver. Arkansas is trying to correct this with HB 1569 which will make it criminal to operate a semi in the state without being able to communicate in English. In 2016 the Obama administration dropped that requirement from the federal guidelines for CDL training and the entire industry has turned into a shitshow with the indians and -istanians coming over to drive down wages and haul all the cheap arse freight.

Here's the LINK to HB 1569 - i believe this was filed to get challenged and brought to get as much federal attention as possible. This is a HUGE problem with the trucking industry right now

A lot of the trucking companies that have been trying to do this are going belly up because of funding. There's a couple still trying it with Budweiser in Texas but for the most part they're dropping like flies now.

There's several msm news clips on youtube coming out now. someone posted a link above of the driver right after it happened but it's a snapchat link I don't have snapchat. This case seems to encompass a lot of current political events.

Mostly a lurker here, but I had to log on this topic. I deal with a few trucks delivering loads from Bryan, Crowley, and Houston. I’m also traveling NE Tx and NWLa seeing way too many immigrants driving big trucks. They can’t even understand, speak, or comprehend English. How in the F did the get a CDL? Too many Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Middle East folks driving these trucks. I predict a large problem with this in the near future. Company called “IRON CAMEL” hauling Frac sand. WTFF!!!
Sorry for the rant

Police believe he took "Central Nervous System (CNS) depressants and was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely."

Two lawsuits filed so far, one for 50 million and one for 100 million.

You must not driver a lot. They pretty much disregard passenger vehicle, absolutely don't give a shite. The last few years it's gotten worse. I know a family who was recently was involved in wreck. Traffic was slowing and the big rig driver behind them wasn't paying attention and sandwiched them. The Dad and children have broke bones, the mother is the worse off, still touch and go with her.

Import 3rd world get 3rd world problems.

Just a few weeks back there was almost a pile up due to these guys towing cars on the interstate. Dude had no flashing lights on his tow cars. 1 truck pulling 2 more trucks. Going 25 mph on the fricking interstate.

Solomun Weldekeal Araya, 37, is facing five charges of intoxication manslaughter for each of the people killed. He is also facing two charges of intoxication assault. He has been booked into the Travis County Jail.

Court documents state that Araya failed a field sobriety test and that he showed signs of intoxication consistent with the use of central nervous system (CNS) depressants.

A bond has been set for Araya totaling $1.2 million – $200,000 for each intoxication manslaughter charge and $100,000 for each intoxication assault charge.

Can we send him to one of those El Salvadoran prisons?

The few times I've had to go through Austin to get somewhere south, I take that new toll road bypass, and it's worth every penny.

Well to be fair Austin is crawling with libs so they go the free route.

But that toll route is probably the best secret to avoid the downtown bottleneck.

Dumbarse drivers are death trap. Drivers need to put the phone down, pay attention and not drive like idiots. Show some class, patience and respect for the road.

We need self driving vehicles. Once they are the norm vehicle fatalities will drop to near zero.
