49 yr old beaten on Canal/Bourbon Sunday mid-day by two teenagers now on ventilator

A 49-year-old man was in the hospital fighting for his life after two teenagers beat him at the intersection of Canal and Bourbon streets Sunday afternoon, New Orleans police wrote in criminal court records.
Investigators allege that Kevin Adams, 18, and a 17-year-old boy whose name wasn’t released began arguing with the victim about 4:20 p.m. Adams purportedly punched the victim in the body with a closed fist before knocking him to the ground and repeatedly kicking him in the head, police said in the court documents, which cited video captured by a city-owned surveillance camera.
In a separate statement, police said Adams’ younger companion also participated in the attack before the pair fled. First responders arrived to find the victim convulsing from a seizure, and paramedics brought him to University Medical Center to be treated for broken ribs, severe head trauma and fluid in his lungs, police added.
The victim was breathing with the help of a ventilator as of late Sunday, and he was facing the possibility that his injuries would prove fatal, investigators noted in the court filings.

He obviously gave the wrong answer when the attackers approached him and said "I bet I know where you got them shoes.."

This is why Skittles is dead and Zimmerman is a free man. It doesn’t require a gun to kill someone. This is also why Adams and the absolutely should be named bitch companion should be shot dead rather than continue to be allowed to attempt to kill other innocent people trying to just enjoy their lives.

The new sheriff will have this guy and the arcade vandal back on the streets before the end of the week and the DA will make sure neither are charged. Teedy will then write them both a check.

In the defense of the young men, the 49 year old allegedly disrespected them. There are always two sides to a story!
When I would drive on Canal at night and hit a red light, I’d keep plenty of space between me and the car in front of me and I’d have my pistol in my hand under a jacket on the passenger seat. At the time, there was a rash of people throwing bricks through the driver’s window to hurt the driver and give access to the car. Tourists have no idea what’s out there.
