This movie obviously doesn’t have a happy ending.

So was this woman an actor in an active scene, or was he just fooling around with it off camera?

Neither. She was behind a camera as the director of photography. Alec Baldwin pointed the gun at her, fired, and killed her and injured another.

Alec Baldwin killed this woman.

So capital murder or manslaughter charges incoming.

Manslaughter maybe. If that. Probably will try to pin it on the prop guy.

You'll see white privilege over this.
Akec will not even have to sniff a courtroom, much less any jail time over this.
Absolute worst case scenario for Alec will be some "wreckless endangerment" xharge, of which he'll be given probation.

Well yeah. It just blows my mind that this can still happen. I didn’t even know that they were still using real guns on set. Very sad and completely preventable.

She’s also a camera op, so she was likely holding the camera and the director was sharing the viewfinder with her. The scene called for the actor to point the gun at someone, and the camera was doing a 1st person setup. If I had to further guess, it was a revolver.

Pure speculation

This.

There are some true idiots on this board. Unless he personally loaded the magazine/gun or was directly responsible for supervising the gun safety on set....he isn't at fault here.

fricking Capital murder?

Seen that it was possibly a shotgun.

Must have been a situation similar to what killed Bruce Lee’s son Brandon. Slug was stuck in the barrel and nobody knew, then shot a “blank” which “shot” the slug out, killing Brandon.

The billet that killed Brandon had a primer that wasn’t removed by the crew. From my understanding, the primer packed enough force to fire the bullet.

Regardless of ones feelings for Baldwin, this sounds like a horrific accident that was no fault of his.
