Nice. Vitax and smpix would've been nice to jump into earlier this year...

You know what I like? I like when public servants brag about how much money they are making (while bitching about a salary cap) while I watch a huge chunk of my check go into their pockets. Great stuff.

Keep it up.

I've been paying into investment and retirement accounts since before the Dotcom bubble crashed. I only look smart now because I'm old I also realize these could take a 50% haircut in 5 months

I just turned 45 and wish I would have been investing in my early 20’s. Started offshore at 18 and nobody ever really sat me down. Wife and I always made really good money for our age but we just contributed a little to our 401k’s and had money in checking and savings.

It wasn’t until we started having a bunch of RSU’s vesting that we opened an account and spoke with someone. From 32 to 45 it’s been amazing just pissed I missed out on 18-32. I could probably have been done at 50 if I had started early.

Good job.

I tell everyone to plan and save for an early retirement. I pulled the plug at 45 years old and not looking back. Retirement life is awesome.

I ate the most expensive thing I ever consumed, and it set me back millions.

Wedding cake.

I had to look outside 401k for investments because I’m capped at 6%.

Wait, they only allow you to put 6% or are you trying to tell us you make over $400K?

When I took my first job after college, my dad told me to put 20% in my 401K. I said ok and I’ve basically done that for my whole career. It didn’t occur to me how significant that decision was until a few years ago.

They only allow me to put in 6%. Capped due to being a HCE and company doesn’t have a safe harbor plan.

I got capped after moving into sales in May of 2014. I think I did May to December at 20% and my percentage is still 20% but they changed it to 6 in January of 2015.

Yeah, even paying in what little I could afford back then made a big difference. I had 2 kids in daycare when I was in my 20s. I couldn't afford to contribute much. Now I'm about to have another one in college.
