Sad because they're just kids but that's an even greater risk to the public - justified.

it’s possible someone in that car got in thinking they were just getting a ride somewhere and absolutely didn’t sign up for a high speed chase in a car they had no idea was stolen.

By that logic, police would never take action if there were ever multiple people in the car. After all, the passenger may just hitching a ride.

Huh?

I said that the PIT maneuver was justified. My post was a reply to someone saying no innocents were lost. You can’t know that because other than the idiot driver, we don’t know anything about anyone else in the car.

OK clearly I’m missing something.

Why is everyone acting like they know everyone in that car was involved with the theft and they made a unified decision to run? Help me out here.

How is the pole? Parents will probably sue the firm that installed the pole.

Pole is my citizen of the day!

Two ankle monitors and three warrants for the passengers. Posted more than once in the thread.

3 had active warrants....

The only thing the parents should receive are criminal charges.

The evading could very well have been at the behest of one or more of the passengers with active warrants.

Sad to see such young people lose their lives like that.

the only possible downside to this is that pit maneuver gets outlawed and there are more restrictions on chasing these shite heads

Sad to see such young people lose their lives like that.

At the very least, the state doesn't pay to educate them further before they continue on their chosen paths.

Fourteen and sixteen year olds: which was driving and which stole the car? Does it really matter? probably not. They chose to keep company with teens who have, er had, already chosen their activities for fun.

I'm glad no one else was hurt or killed.

I guess my attitude comes with the suspicion that kids get a bunch of free passes and don't earn ankle moniters for their first stolen Coca-Cola.

This is in Florida plus no civilians were injured so I doubt it

Somehow this detail was not brought up in this thread... they were all wearing ski masks. Seems like they were all quite involved. They also "intentionally" hit a Honda before getting PITed.

I hope the ankle monitors survived. That way the next time they slap them on someone they can explain the history of said monitor and why it would be a dumb idea to run from the police.

And then tell them the monitors are haunted and scream BOO!!! really loud.

Obviously returning from Telluride with the snowboards strapped to the roof.
