37.4% of tests in Louisiana have been positive

It was 36.4%. Hopefully that trend doesn’t continue but it’s a little concerning to see it increase. Just confirms that there are many out there carrying this virus who could be spreading it to the at-risk population.
This mornings number increased from 132 last night to 171 and now 4 deaths. Louisiana is becoming one of the biggest hot spots nationally for this.

The number is definitely going to go up because they're only testing those that are most likely to have it

Aren't they only testing those ordered by a physician that suspects the person has the proper symptoms? That would make sense as to why the positive rate is so high.

Sure 37% of people they tested are positive. That’s only because they have tested people who almost certainly look like they have the virus. Now if they tested everyone that number would go down.

This is your friendly reminder that they are still mostly testing people that have had exposure and are showing symptoms.
Once testing is expanded, the rate of positives is going to drop.

In a way this is good news because it shows people who are manifesting symptoms are taking it seriously enough to go get tested.

not really a significant number tho. plenty of ppl have it and show zero symptoms so obviously they will never get tested
