I had a 96 Dodge just like that. 5.2 (318) and a 5 speed. I'd still be driving it but a drunk rear ended me. Great truck.

Awesome thread idea
I'm taking the T-100, especially if it's a manual. Not only did my grandpa drive one in the same red color posted here, but I have driven the modern version (Tacoma) since 2014.
Those T-100s, if the body and basic fluids maintained, would outlive us all. A vast majority of them were parked and retired simply due to rust and body damage from years of hard use, but would probably start right up in the junkyard with a fresh battery and some good fuel

My dad had the half ton Chevy with the vortex 350. I hauled a 3 horse slant bumper pull trailer all over La and Ms with it.

A far better, and correct, assessment than my tongue-in-cheek remark.
The poorer Dodge build quality, especially the paint, would show itself soon enough, but that design did put them back in the truck game. The Toyota entry was indeed dependable, but wasn't regarded well in the market, primarily bc lack of size.
The GMs, by the early 90s, had solved the rust issues that plagued the 80s versions and the 350, making a true 300hp, was rock-solid.
Fords were pretty strong, and their half-tons were much improved from the poor build qualities of the 80s.
Either one of those command premium prices today, especially restored examples in stock trims.

1998 Ranger here with manual transmission and only 166K miles still going strong on the roads of Kentucky. Mint condition. Never selling it. I'm not one that cares about keeping up with the Joneses. I take care of my stuff it lasts, and therefore I don't need to buy new constantly.
