Very cool and congrats.

Was it any one particular substance or combo or ALL?

Exactly. The axiom is really "can't trust a drunkard or a drug user." Those without control of their faculties due to poor self control have no discipline and shouldn't be trusted with sensitive information.

Congrats. Here's to a better life for you.

Never let anyone make you feel like a loser for refusing to drink. Ever.

Your sanity and clarity of mind is the most important thing you have and if some people think refusing to put poison in your body is a loser move, then that says more about them than you.

Congrats Clean. I think for you, the hardest part was gaining clarity on who/what the enemy is. You just needed an opponent.

How are you doing on that hygiene thing?

Well done.

I have been sober since Saturday night. Just feel like I need a break and it makes me feel a little better about my drinking if I can take a break for a week to 10 days every now and then. Does that make me sound like an alcoholic?

This sounds like something an alcoholic would slur to the barmaid as he's shite faced drunk and pounding his fists on the bar.

Oh absolutely. Because you don't have that sense of ease and comfort to say "frick it" and get wasted while dwelling in the problem, rather than seeking the solution to find some serenity about yourself.
