Three people were killed in a Mid-City shooting Saturday night, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Police were called to the 3300 block of Banks Street at 10:09 p.m.

At the scene, police laid out several evidence markers around a pickup truck on South Rendon Street near its intersection with Banks. Neighbors said they heard several rounds of gunfire that sounded like firecrackers.

Authorities did not immediately release more information. Ho Hum just another Saturday night in the Big Easy. # StayAwayStayAlive#

1 mile away from a family members house. I have made excuses for NOLA in my time but I am ready to admit it's time to abandon ship.

It’s absolutely insane!

I heard on WWL last week that there were 84 shootings, not murders but shootings since the 1st in the city. During the later years of Afghanistan, a literal war zone you could go weeks without having 84 troops in contact situations. So a war zone was safer than the city of New Orleans.

oh I’m sure. At this rate of thug killing thug , it would seem they will eventually kill each other off. The problem is each thug probably has 5 babies mama’s, so the next generation of stealing and killing is right around the corner

They don't exist.

This city is great, I've lived here my whole life and it's not as bad as you say.

Cantrell was enjoying her Mardi Gras party just this past Friday. She paid some lip service for extra money for security at the parades. Anyone who thinks these animals give a shite about a few extra rent a cops on the route are delusional. These roving packs of criminals will see Mardi Gras parades as the perfect opportunity to rob/shoot etc as more people will come into the area with no sense of awareness. It is literally wolves on sheep. This Mardi Gras will be an ugly one. I would not even want to ride on a float let alone be a spectator. Of course Cantrell will be getting loaded at private parties all the while these predators do what they do. It cannot be stated enough NOLA is not safe in any sense of the word.

Funny thing. When I got out of the military, I applied to NOPD and my dad told me I should have stayed in and became a Navy SEAL because it's the same shite.

I went close to a year without hearing anything from NOPD with a spotless record and an honorable discharge after 4 years of service to include a deployment in support of OEF X so I decided to just use my GI Bill and enrolled at LSU. NOPD randomly calls me back and asks when I can start. I told them never.

I didn't know it at the time but NOPD being a shitshow and slow walking apps was the best thing that could have ever happened to my life and career.

Yeah, but as long as you personally haven’t been shot, mugged, robbed, stabbed, or had your car stolen or broken into, then it’s really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Crazy to think that they can be this incompetent that 2 people who just happen to be participating in this thread ran into very similar problems

No wonder that city is a mess. Incompetence all over
