This happened to my lady a few months back before Christmas. Luckily for her it was at a gas station and two other guys scared him off.

Hold on sir, my wallet is in my console. open console pull out .45 then BAM! another pile of scum for the coroners to have to come pick up. Save a couple tax payers dollars and I still eat dinner at home that night.

I know it's easier said than done but more people should be better protected in the case of a robbery. Luckily no innocent people were harmed during these robberies.

Nola has been a shithole ever since katrina. Ive been going regularly since 2002 and ever since katrina the thugs have been out in full force in the quarter and other areas where tourists go.

You are a simple misunderstanding away from being shot on just about any street corner in the wuarter.

The got to me after five years. I miss the hell out of it, and while I'd love to move back, stories like these keep getting worse.

Seriously though there is so much to do and experience in Nola. But it's at your own risk all the damn time and that's scary and not worth it at all.

So you trust those numbers? Hasnt nopd been accused of fudging the numbers? I seem to recall them not counting murders where someone was shot but didnt die until until a couple of days later.

A little less than 500k in 2000. ~400k now.

Lol, so the disaster of a city is less of a disaster and that should entice me to stay?

There is NOTHING in the city that is trending towards the better.

Bad crime? Check
Bad infrastructure? Check
Corrupt government? Check
Bad schools? Check
Rising taxes? Check

There is not a single major city in this country that doesn't have good food/music, so that argument is moot.

New Orleaneans take it so personally when someone speaks ill of the city. It's not a personal attack, it's an unbiased fact that by every measurable statistic New Orleans is NOT a good city to live in.

Nothing wrong with someone choosing to live there, but to act like the city isn't in the dumps right now is just silly.

(not necessarily directed at you)

It pains me to look at the city that way too. I moved away to Iowa for 4 years and all I wanted was to come back.

Needless to say, it didn't take long once I was back to realize just how far behind New Orleans is compared to other cities.
