An hour earlier, a second armed robbery was reported downtown at 5:33 p.m. An unknown male on a bike approached a 53-year-old man at the intersection of Loyola Avenue and Poydras Street, police said. The cyclist then revealed his gun and demanded the man's money and phone, police said. The NOPD said the victim complied and the suspect fled the scene.

Born and raised here. I will be leaving as soon as my residency is over.
I used to be the staunchest NOLA supporter, but I just don't have the energy anymore. I think a lot of folks need to take off their black and gold glasses.

I'll say it before one of the others say it. New Orleans is the greatest ______. New Orleans has the best ______. This stuff happens everywhere. These crimes only happen in certain parts of town. Nothing to worry about. I love my city and wouldn't trade it for any other city.

I was mostly surprised by the robbery at Poydras and Loyola, I walk that area all the time around that time of the day for Pelicans/Arena/Dome events.

This is kind of hard to believe. French Quarter Fest, there were at least hundreds of people in the 800 block of Decatur.

Those two sound sketchy. One on the main road through downtown and one at a huge festival

Well if all of this stuff happened in New Orleans this weekend there is no telling what happened in the dangerous cities like Hammond, Denham Springs, and Amite.

Was the Bayou Classic this weekend? I've read here that the Bayou Classic is the only weekend of the year that stuff like this happens in dear old NOLA, so it must have been this weekend.
