After having to wait about 4 weeks on a plumber I would tell you to scrap all that, go to a plumbing program at a community college and start your own business. It's insane how tradesmen are getting harder and harder to find

Your loaded boss is ripping you off. I'd be looking around if I were you. You already have the experience to help get in somewhere else with better salary and benefits.

Well that makes more sense. You might not even have worked long enough for full benefits.

Some of those don't kick in until after you've been somewhere long enough.

No point in starting a 401k if you just quit after 3 months.

Do they not offer benefits to any of the workers? I'm not up to date on who is exempt from offering health care.

As a rule banks don't pay good. They are big on titles like AVP, VP that don't really pay that good.

Take the AML bank job and learn the ins and outs of money laundering. So much so that you could end up being a consultant or advisor to someone that needs to launder money without being caught. This is where the real money is at.

I made a career change and did this, paying off big for me but I have friends who can't even get a look. The competition is wild though since everyone and their mother (literally) are in bootcamps.

Here’s great advice. Make yourself the most valuable employee that the boss can trust. When he can start being away from the business because you got his back you’re halfway there. Next become very valuable to the customers and make them your number one priority and let them know it. Learn the products inside and out and within 5 years you’re either running the company or opening your own and taking customers with you.

you are still plenty young to get into a trade. Avionics, airplane maintenance, HVAC, robot technicians. plenty of stuff for 2 year degrees. They may be a little more hands on but at nearly 40 i'm considering getting a 2 year technical degree. Avionics jobs all around me.

we need more gasoline truck drivers. Pays well and will help lower gas prices thus lowering crawfish prices.

I'm not hiring a self-employed plumber with no experience to work on my house.

Possible position: AML (anti money laundering) analyst for a smallish bank. Basically I would be checking customers bank accounts for any suspicious activity (try to see if they are laundering money). Then I report it to the investigator and they investigate it.
Pay: $12 an hour, yearly bonus, medical benefits, 401k, sick leave once a month, etc.

If you're good in AML, you can move up quickly. I've been doing it for slightly less than 4 years and have almost doubled the salary from when I started.

You want to be a professional snitch?

Just joking. I would think the AML job would have more opportunities to move up plus you will have medical benefits and a 401k. And possibly learn more skills that will be more marketable in the future.

If someone deposits the same amount of money into their account each month and it is in cash.. Is that suspicious?

Well, I don't see a reason not to take it if you think it will lead to a better opportunity once you get your degree. Since you still live at home, I assume you don't need to purchase heath insurance so that saves money and so really everything after tax from you check, you can save.

Figuring you would put away 6% to a 401k your looking around $1850 a month after taxes per month, take home at the AML job vs 2275 a month at your current job. If I did that math right.

Those pay options are pretty shitty with literally everyone looking for employees right now

Yall realize most places that are hiring pay minimum wage right?

Any way, pay cannot be your chief concern right now. You're not going to be making much at any office type job at this point. I made less than that at any college job I had. I made 20/hour working for the state once I had a college degree. This was in 2016 FYI.

Sounds like the AML job has benefits and more opportunity to move up.

depends on if it is more than $9,900 and the types of bills.
Some banks file paperwork on all cash deposits > 2k if i remember correctly. The key is to setup a panama trust that owns shares in a company situated in delaware. HSBC and deustchebank are the top money launderers. America is the money laundering capital of the world contrary to popular belief.
