Wish I could message the kid and advise on their establishment of residence and your need to go through civil court for eviction. You and the mother seem like class acts to do this via text.

You texted your stepchild you were kicking them out? How scared of your kids are you?

Are you trying to get a further reaction from them for some reason? Were you wanting them to beg you to reconsider or something?

Sounds like this is the case and the stepchild knows that and is more mature than OP

In a few days we'll have a new post:

"20 YO Step Child still at home, mother said he didn't have to leave. What should I do?"

I got a half apology two months ago when they same situation happened. I caved and didn't carry through. Now back in the situation and get this reply. I know its not being taken seriously, but that response wasn't the best.

But why are you kicking out!?

Won't share it = scared of what we'd say

Posted this thread like a woman seeking attention for an "atta girl!" moment from her group thread.

Man up and give context so you could get the advice you seek OP, I got another hour and a half at work I'm struggling thru before my weekend starts.

Was the 20-year-old laying in bed in their room when you texted them?

Then ignore the response.

Don’t reply.

If he doesn't follow your rules, he needs to be on his own. If a 20 year old is living under the stepdaughtermom's house, he needs to be given chores, responsibilities and rules.

Must be a piece of shite to get kicked out at 20.

He's 20. Plus it ain't his dad. He's not gonna follow whatever you tell him and it'll just make the mom hate you for being a dick to her kid

It's still the stepdad and mom's house. And the stepson is 20. He's a man and should be providing his own housing.

If you're 20 and living in mommy's house, you better be paying rent, doing chores and following the rules of the house.

You don't get autonomy until you support yourself.

How dare you tell him he has a curfew and can’t smoke weed in the house? He’s a grown adult!

Also, how dare you give my BABY chores and tell him he needs to contribute? He’s just a KID!
