Read the whole sentence. Sure, it could be written more clearly, but it's not incorrect.

OF course, because you know, guns are illegal there.

And criminals care so much about the law.

Mayor Eric Adams added that "there is just no fear on using these guns on innocent New Yorkers, and this is the result."

The Mayor just made (without realizing it I'm sure) a compelling case for the right of law abiding citizens to arm themselves against criminals. The police have really never been equipped or able to protect citizens in real time, even less so now after being neutered by the progressive BLM types.

This is terrible. These poor kids have lost their mother and will certainly lose their father.

Yes, it’s an ambiguous sentence, but should be understandable with context.

Why is every Mayor of NYC the last 20 years such a piece of shite? Is that like a prerequisite now?

No but on my walk back to the hotel, there was a person in a hoodie asleep (or pretending to be asleep; navy hoodie, grey sweatpants, missing his left shoe, young adult male) on the sidewalk near a pile of shite.

I was on E 92nd St and 2nd Ave. This dude was laid out on E 92nd St.

I almost stepped in the shite though. I would have been pissed.

At a press conference late Wednesday night, NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell described the suspect as a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants, who fled eastbound on 95th St. after the shooting.

Am I missing something here?

"Johnson's ex-boyfriend, who allegedly assaulted her when she was pregnant, has a lengthy rap sheet."

This story is tragic, but sadly, predictable. Not the best person to bring into one's home. I have a first cousin, once removed, who is notorious for moving criminals into her home, and she has children. There have been consequences to the children.

I remember being told how much of a centrist he was when he was campaigning. Anyone who was paying an ounce of attention knew exactly who this piece of shite is and what he stands for.

Whoever wrote that sentence has no business writing -that might be the worst I’ve ever read that didn’t come from a middle schooler

We don't know that they didn't. The mother said that tried several times to get her help/protection.

It doesn't matter, though. Restraining orders aren't some magic spell that protects someone. When you're dealing with a criminal that will shoot an unarmed person in the back of the head while she's pushing their child in a stroller, a legal filing isn't going to help.
