That is a symptom of a fricked up culture and society right there. Sounds like their educational system may be more dysfunctional than ours.

I got a bigger kick out of the linked article on that page about the voter who cut his finger off after voting for the wrong party Voter cuts off finger. We should have more practice that here.

That's .002% (two-thousanths of one percent).
The annual college suicide rate in the US (albeit not necessarily associated with a single test) is about 10 times that, or .02%, (20 out of 100,000).
I guess those Indians might be a little less crazy than us.

I was reading about this earlier. Your only shot to get out of poverty in their culture is through higher education. When you’re dealing with a population in the billions, a single point difference in a test score could put 10’s of thousands ahead of you in line for college admissions. It’s not far fetched for some of them to feel their lives were effectively over due to a low score, & would rather opt out of life early.
