A country boy could have a freezer plum full for almost nothing by just catching catfish and popping a few wild hogs. No such thing as a meat shortage here in NETx.

At this rate it’s probably cheaper to get a group together, buy a whole cow and have it slaughtered and butchered

shite, it’s always been cheaper to do that. In college some friends and I came pretty close to doing it but the deep freezer was unreliable and we didn’t want to have it go bad

I agree with that. Its like when people raise hell over $3 gas but don't say anything about a $4 gallon of milk.

The issue that i have is that spot lean pork is $1.11 and spot beef is $1.19.

Saw brisket in the case this afternoon that were $130+ each. Mind you this is southern ms in a grocery store that doesn’t carry prime. Steered myself to the pork section.

I am seriously considering taking the state of TN up on the 3 doe/day limit this year. I've let too many pass, but beef prices suck.

What cut, and what grade? I've paid more than twice that on occasion.

He was talking about from the butcher shop… not the porterhouse at Texas Roadhouse…
