If they have already pulled ahead first, then clearly you should go in behind them then

What is really fun is pulling into the mobile order lane... People in the regular lanes get maaaad. I've been cursed at a few times.

It's zipper. Chick fil a doesnt have a pull up system and they bring the order to the vehicle.

Even if the guy is correct he loses by default for cussing you out at a Chick Fil A where this is completely irrelevant. Even the “meh” ones aren’t going to give you the wrong order and waiting 30 seconds is no reason for self-induced high blood pressure.

Dude is probably a candidate to get shot in a road rage incident in the near future.

OT is being way too harsh on OP

You can’t expect the drivers to pay attention to every car in front of them and who’s “first”

Some of those Chick-fil-A workers are flying down the line while the other line might be a slower or new worker. You can’t have lane 1 waiting for multiple cars in lane 2 to pass him up and him know exactly when his “turn” is. Unless the worker tells him to go behind a certain car

Edit: it doesn’t matter anyway….
When you pull around they have your car make and model and color. They will walk up to the appropriate persons window with the order whether they’re in front or behind.

I don't wait like I used to. Then you run the risk of being behind someone and getting your food. But have to wait 5 mins for them to get their giant order they should have went inside for

Yes if you are ordering for more than a family of 4 take you arse inside or use the app. You slow down the drive thru

It doesn’t matter at all because they put down a description of your vehicle. They know where the food goes.

You know what you’re supposed to do and you know what you’re not supposed to do. It sounds like you already knew what you were doing was wrong and you did it anyway.

Either the staff was poorly trained and didn’t tell you what car you need to pull in behind or you weren’t listening when they did tell you.

At Chick Fil A, no, it goes by who ordered first. Almost every CFA I have been to, the person that took your order will direct you to pull behind the car you are supposed to pull behind. You do not zipper.

Yeah I’m surprised at how many people are saying zipper. Every time a Chik Fil A worker has told me who to follow, it’s been the last person to order before me (whether they’re in front of me or on the side). You can tell.

Every time I’ve been at a Chik Fil A and they didn’t tell me who to follow, I’ve followed the last person to order before me and they’ve had the right name at the window.

Generally you can tell who ordered first because that car will creep up past the speaker. So my vote is that if it’s so busy you can’t tell who ordered first, they should tell you who to follow.

Regardless it’s a pretty trashy thing to get all bent out of shape about.

How the hell do you know if the other guy ordered first?

I am always amazed at people's lack of situational awareness. Maybe I am unusual but I always know which one of the two cars in dual drivethroughs started and finished their order first.

I always follow based on who finished ordering first. IMO is just common courtesy and it has never caused an issue. That being said there is no right or wrong because CFA doesn't have posted "rules".

Most CFA employees verbally tell each customer which car to follow from the other lane as they merge. Rarely seen it where it was just left up to customers to use their own common sense to determine when it's their turn.

Chick Fil A drive thru etiquette.

Use the app and walk in. They practically beg people to this, it’s all over the store and signs everywhere outside.

I use the app every time, order a sandwhich and a water, they start the order when I’m close enough, I walk in to get it and leave before the drive thru moves. They send me a survey for a free sandwich every other time I order one. I’m riding this train until they kick me off.
