It honestly feels weird looking at how clean and graffitiless New York once was.

The stock market crash was in 1928.
So, i would imagine there were tons of super poor folks. Even FDR was dumping money into public to try and help.
It, unfortunately, took WW2 to finally help bail the US economy out. War is big business.

exactly, this is exactly what is wrong with today. People just say anything with no basis.

Things that stick out. Pollution was redic. That river was probably toxic. I think about the construction crews that built those buildings. Babe Ruth was strolling those streets.

You lost me here. Outside of the late 80’s to mid 90’s NYC has been a beautiful and great city. Not sure when the last time you went but you might want to try it out again as a lot has changed in 30 years, almost as much as it did in 90 years.

I was mainly talking about how it was weird to see the trains in the video without all the graffiti they’re usually adorned with. Yes I’ve been to New York but it’s been awhile and need to go back.

When I think of the 1930’s it just seems so old, and in black and white makes it seem like it might as well be colonial days. But looking at it in color, I don’t see much basically has changed in 90 years. I saw ships, planes, people, Christmas decorations, folks eating, nightclubs, theaters, marquees, traffic, pedestrians, etc. Yes, it’s more of a melting pot now, yes there’s way more traffic, technology is far superior, but looking at in color seems much closer in proximity to time than black and white.
I couldn’t deal with the music though.

Gotcha, I was a bit confused because I go once a year and I don’t see much graffiti.

The stock market crash was in 1929. FDR wasn’t elected until 1932, but he was Governor of NY at that time. Maybe that’s what you meant by referencing him

New York is cleaner and safer than it was back then.

Had spray paint been invented yet?

Did they not have traffic lights??
Seems like everyone just kinda tries to squeeze in when they can, hell at least put up a stop sign

Literally 5 seconds in I see nothing but immense smog throughout the sky

Is that smog in the first shot of the video?
If so, that's a lot of smog.
