This is ridiculous. Question...does the Parish Sheriff have authority to call this in the city limits? Wouldn't that be up to Baton Rouge City Police to call for and enforce curfew? How does that work?

Why not just pretend this is America and give businesses the option to choose whether they want to close or not.

EBR really does like them a curfew. We had really bad flooding in Cypress a few months ago and I don't recall a curfew for Houston.

And looters really give a shite about a curfew and respect the law anyway, right?

The point is to be able to legally keep the streets clear. You can't arrest a person for walking down the road for looking guilty....unless there's a curfew.

The crooks can't magically warp to some place to commit crimes.

Democrats enjoy telling people what to do when they actually work for the people.

Its been very few incidents with the city in complete chaos. The curfew isnt going to decrease the number of idiots wanting to rob or burglarize.

Again, you're punishing hundreds of businesses and thousands of people who could really use some income because a few knuckleheads decided to do some looting a few nights ago.

How about the sheriff's office ups patrols in areas hit by flooding?

Would this actually be an issue driving from one apartment to another on Burbank at around 12?

Cops find reasons to arrest people walking down the street every day. I understand the other side, but I don't see where the pros of the curfew outweigh the cons.

LSU, Mid City, Garden District, Downtown, Perkins/College are all dry. People who rely on hourly pay during nighttime hours are fricked for no reason.

There is literally no way for BRPD to enforce a city wide curfew. They simply do not have the resources.

As long as you're on the road for legit purposes (not looting and stealing shite being an idiot), you're completely fine to be out past 10pm.

If you're in a flooded area or looking sketchy, expect to be pulled over past 10pm.

That's fine and all, but that doesn't help the bar and restaurant employees who probably have the biggest gripe against the curfew.

Fine, but businesses cant afford to stay open past 10 and pay employees with no customers.

shite even airlines have been sending less flights to and from BR because of the curfew.

I'm sure if you just tell the cops the truth, that your driving from your apartment at sterling to go frick an ot 10 on ben hur, they'll be cool with it. I'd have her send me nudes as proof to show the cop in case he does'nt believe you

Might be? Pretty sure the news outlets have been all over reporting any incidence of looting. They love that shite.

I'd fully support a class-action lawsuit being brought against EBRSO for imposing unnecessary economic hardship on BR residents and employees affected by their loss of wages and/or customers.

Missing 3-4 nights of wage work in a single week spells certain ruin for the thousands of people already on the brink financially.

Why not have a curfew for the area south of greenwell springs Rd, east of airline, and north of the southern parish boundary? Add in the communities in the north part of the parish and call it a day.

Also, why are some businesses exempt from the curfew (airport, plants, etc.) and others are not?
