10 year old Dog has stopped drinking water

New guy here, but have hung out for years here. I know some of you all are dog owners, so thought I would throw this out here.
We have a ten year old female lab. She’s chunky, but still gets along even with arthritis. The past few days she’s been gimpier than her normal, sleepy and not drinking much water.
Took her to the vet on Tuesday. No fever, labs were good. Vet said she has a cyst on her belly that needs removed and he put her on carprofen as needed.
She’s getting around a bit better but not much in the way of water consumption. We’ve given her some wet food and broth to keep her hydrated.
I’m pretty worried about her and hate the thought she might be shutting down. It’s pretty much wiped me out the last two days. Any thoughts?

Prayers honestly. 10 is getting up there for a lab. We lost one at 9 and and another at 10. With that said, let it play out a few days if the vet wants the meds time to work and see.

Did you try feeding her water with a syringe?

Ask the vet? It’s possible the meds have the side effect of making your dog not want water. Did the vet give you good or bad odds concerning the cyst?

Continue wet food and broth for the old girl. She deserves it.

My dog did this. Stopped eating and drinking brought him to the vet for a few days, have him meds to help his appetite and nothing. He got so skinny and miserable in 3-4 days that I decided to put him down. It was not easy but he was clearly suffering and I didn't want that for him.

He mentioned sarcoma but didn’t tell me it was possibly cancerous. I’d rather him be honest and tell me what’s going on

I just had to have my 10 year old lab put down Tuesday. She literally lost 30 pounds in 31 days. I couldn't get her to eat anything but a little bit of rotisserie chicken over the last week. Cancer sucks.

Try putting several water bowls out.
2 in house, a couple outsid.
Our dog wouldn't drink her inside water for a month. All tests plus ultrasound came back clean
And she's lost 5 lost. It's annoying, she needs to tell us that whats wrong

Had that issue with my dog two years ago, we gave him Pedialyte. He seemed to like it, drank it up for a couple days.

He mentioned sarcoma? You need to get an x-ray/ultrasound/whatever of her abdomen. It could be her spleen and if it bursts she will die from blood loss quickly
Surgery was expensive but it bought me another year with my husky.

Have you checked her teeth? My dog stopped drinking water and it was because she had 2 bad teeth that needed to be extracted.

My 8 year old female lab had a bump on her belly, and after having it tested ended up being osteosarcoma. It is very rare to have it pop up on the mammary, but that’s what she had. Per LSU, full cancer treatment might have given her 6 months, but they just didn’t know. There have been so few cases and very little info on it, we opted for no treatment and she made it about 3 months. She did well until the last week, it came on hard and fast. I would make sure the vet tested that bump.

Said goodbye to a 17(!) year old lab recently. Getting double the time of a normal was both a huge blessing but I sure did get used to him being around the house in that time. Going to be rough for a bit.

Ask the vet about hydrating infusions that contain vitamins and minerals. Am doing this now with my Shi Tzu who is in the last few weeks of his life. The infusions three days a week have really helped his energy level and general well being. Inexpensive, $30 a visit takes only 10 minutes and my dog never objects or shows signs of stress afterward.
Edited to add that multiple water bowls inside the house and outside is worth trying.
