For the usual long distance trips you take in those exotic cars?

Not to mention the Plaid will get you further on 1 charge than certainly some and probably all of those cars. Oops!!

All 10 of them will be pulling into their destination while the Tesla is sitting at a charging station.

All 10 of them will run out of gas before while the Tesla keeps going, but you never let those pesky details stop you in Tesla threads.

Negative ghost rider, the torque does not drop and is pretty much linear. Peak HP happens at 80mph and remains same all the way to 200.

The only production ICE car I can think of that would be reeling back in a Plaid at the end of the 1/4 is a Chiron and probably needs another 330 feet to pass. Everything else has to wait for the Plaid to hit Vmax (163/175mph) to drive past it.

I think it will be sooner than that with the recent extremely heavy investment in electric.

A lot will depend on the batteries.

I keep hearing this, but a 10 hours road trip I recently took when plugged into the Tesla trip planner for a extended range model 3 come up with 3 charge stops of 55, 60, and 15 minutes, which added 2 hours to the trip compared to what I did, and I got to pick the route I wanted to take.

I actually have take 3 10 hour trips in a mid-range Model 3, not even long range. On the 10 hour trip, it was a max of 1 hour charging. Doing the trip with a wife and kids, we'd make usual stops anyway for bathroom breaks and stopping to eat, so we maybe added 15-20 minutes to our 10 hour trip than we did when we take our non EV SUV on the same 10 hour trip.

I have talked to several Tesla drivers hooked up to superchargers, at a couple of places where I frequently stop, they are never in and out in 15 minutes.
I say this very honestly and not just hating, either you're lying, they are lying, or they have really old Teslas/ONLY ever charge on older charges.

95% of my stops in 3.5 years are 15 minutes or less.

I'd like to drive one on a track a few times but I drive like a paw paw these days. I doubt my truck has ever hit 85

The range on the plaid is nowhere close to the 300 plus you state if you’re trying to achieve that 1000hp/torque band you speak of. And even with that peak band lasting those hyper cars listed will have no issues beating that 1k HP battery on wheels.

The cars I listed may be far fetched with beating the plaid but will absolutely keep up on a highway and win on a track.
Sorry I don’t spend much time at drag strips with my Tesla and am not looking to race off a red light….. ever.

I do wonder if/when we ever get to the point where electric car batteries have extremely high range (600 miles? 1000?), will we see race cars in Nascar and Formula 1 go electric? In theory they would be faster and you wouldn't need to pit for gas.

Not a direct answer, but there is already Formula E Racing.

Tesla ranks in the top 100 on the all time Nürburgring for production cars. That is actually a very impressive achievement.

The car can actually turn

Well, when the frick does anyone really need go 0-60 in 1.98 seconds? It's as useless of stat as there is on earth. It doesn't mean shite for your typical daily drive.

I think practicality went out the window once we started comparing a 4 door full size sedan to super cars

I lapped COTA in my buddies. It’s not a terrible handling car. Especially for its size. You throw that package in something sports sized with decent suspension and rubber and it would be a monster.

I see videos all the time of Tesla walking cars off the line, but you never seem to see videos of them walking cars on a road course. I see they have put up stellar course times, but I want to see a race.

Considering it has more power than about anything else that's not nearly as impressive as you think it is.

Top100!

Why can’t some of you just admit Elon and the fellas make some pretty cool stuff at Tesla? It’s ok, not a big deal

The Tesla is not "very fast". It is "very quick".

You are confusing fast and quick.

A 1996 Civic is faster than a Plaid over a long distance race.

I don’t think people are driving super sports cars more than couple miles at a time. No one is driving a multimillion dollar car across the country.
