One of broadcasters has a daughter who is queen. Will he take this year off and is it possible Henri the GOAT will come out of retirement for just one night to give us his commentary?

She's go to TCU, not a typical school for a debutante

Post of the Day right here.

The associated drinking game would be every time he referred to a family member as “mother” or “uncle” (etc), you would be obliged to take a swaller.

TCU definitely stands out. Seems like UVA, SMU, Sewanee, and the ivy leagues are the usual.

You may know this. I know people uptown fly flags from their Krewe. What's the blue and white flag with the seahorse? I'm seeing that one now uptown.
I know the Rex flag and other flags. But don't now what that one is

It is a tremendous shite show, that we all laugh at. It is broadcast on local TV, and all the fake pomp and pretentiousness is just funny as hell.

I was invited about 15 years ago to gauge interest in joining. I accepted the offer, since I’m a poor baw from Nola East.

I left Thoth, put my tux on and headed to Canal Street.

I realized I was in the wrong building within 15 minutes. I left that boring shite and caught a cab back to the uptown route to catch the end of Bacchus.

In reality, the OT is more prestigious than Comus will ever be.

When Comus still street paraded on Fat Tuesday night, most of the floats were deserted and the few riders were stingy as heck. A letdown for us little kids not invited to the Ball.

Comus floats were very fast. The parade was an afterthought. Stopping parading was good for everyone!

Proteus is a red flag with a seahorse. Comus is a white flag with a gold chalice and Rex is the Mardi Gras trifecta.

You know Arthur Hardy is retiring, right?

Could be a pretty sweet gig...

Most of the Comus riders had ridden in Momus(Thursday), Proteus(Monday) and Rex earlier on Tuesday.

I miss Comus. Back in the day, we used to emerge from the FQ just long enough to watch Comus zoom by on Canal St., always with the most obscure and esoteric themes, before rejoining the chaos of the Quarter. (My friends were always shocked to see the mounted patrol clearing the street at midnight.) Their theme inevitably prompted thoughts appropriate to the transition to Lent. It was a good parade to close Carnival season.

About the only good thing I'll say about Comus parading is that I met my first girlfriend at that parade 60 years ago.

Other than that, them not parading is like "who cares".

IMO it was a crappy parade with no bands and made Scrooge McDuck look like a philanthropist with the amount of beads they threw.
