Holy hell dude. So what is your definition for the purpose of the business she owns?

The product on the field is what season ticket holders pay to see. The performance is meaningless. Even if the Saints suck she still gets revenue from 31 other teams. They share the profit. Some owners do what it takes to win, others don't care because they still getting paid.

She gets a free pass because she literally owns the team.

What decision did she not make that she should have? Go on

She was an interior decorator before marrying Tom? The only choices she made had to do with curtains and furniture. She doesn’t make any decisions. She signs off on whatever she is told to by her advisors. If that is Dennis Lauscha, Mickey Loomis, etc.

Do you really want a 70-something woman who knows nothing about sports meddling with the operations of a professional sports franchise???

So then what's the rub? Loomis and fricking Lauschka get to run the franchise in perpetuity?

It's almost like a fricking billionaire would have access to consultants who could give her a rundown on the state of her investments independent of the snake oil salesmen running them.

I want one that’s looking out for the best of the organization, not purely listening to two cockroaches that are looking out for their own self interests.

Gayle probably thinks our current record is fine because she has no idea how shitty our division is or how easy of a schedule it’s been.

I don’t want an owner that constantly overrules the football people, but I would like one is engaged and somewhat involved

Georgia Fratiereie (however it was spelled) hit the low (double entendre intended) in her profootball ownership. Keeping an over the hill but handsome QB on the payroll and using him as a boy tow (reputedly) was a low.

Maybe Mrs. Gayle will leave the team to the Catholic Archdiocese in her will.

If old man Tom set the Saints up this way with Gayle as a puppet and the L&Ls untouchable, we’d be better off with Rita. She’s a coked up bat shite crazy bitch, but we know she’s not afraid to fire people, especially for incompetence.

With Rita, we’d at least have hope during the search for new blood and maybe she’d have had the balls to veto some of the dumb arse Loomis recent decisions (looking at Carr).

Im waiting to see what happens at the end of this season. You dont want an owner like Tepper or jerry. So its a fine line to walk. Hopefully she pushed loomis and lauscha to do whats needed. If she doesnt, then ill be critical of her. But until then, im not sure what she was supposed to do. Cant really fire the guy after one year realistically

Yes, stable organizations dont do that. And im not defending allen, he sucks. I wanted him gone last year. But realistically, it was never gonna happen

Dennis isn’t going anywhere, but not because of the reason you gave. It is more about complacency and the people making the decisions don’t want to admit they hired a bad head coach.

Don't go to the games.

How does a sports franchise owner have accountability to fans?

I have said this is at the heart of the issue from the beginning. Most owners are business people. They understand the effects of getting the job done vs those that are not. In the business world, Allen and the Front Office would have been replaced a long time ago.

Benson gets a guaranteed check from the League. She isn't dependent on the Saints making a profit or being successful to put a dollar into her pocket.

She is making close to $20 million a year---Last I heard.

They guy has never had a winning season as a head coach and looks woefully unprepared anytime we play anyone with a pulse.
