What responsibility does she have to any of us? For better or worse, they're her teams and she can do whatever she wants or nothing if she doesn't want. Whether you watch or attend is on you.

This. No point in talking big like anyone can hold her accountable. You either decide to ride along or get out off the ride. That's your options.

She gets a free pass because there is nothing that can be done about her. You can't fire the owner.

What specific decision(s) has she made that compels people to declare her a bad owner?

Not fire Mickey Loomis? He has been GM since 2002 and in that time, other than the Katrina year they have never lost more than 9 games in a season. Does that make the Mara's bad owners? Go try selling that one to the larger NFL community.

Do you know how many 7-9 years there were in the Brees/Payton era?

If the bottom of your franchise is 9 losses, then you have a pretty well run and well owned franchise.

This is how things go in a league where parity is part of the operating model. Every team will go through this. Stop being so damn spoiled.

Because sadly the only thing that won’t or can’t change is the owner. It’s their team. Holding her accountable is pointless because no one holds her accountable.

And if the fans act up and don’t support the team, they move the team to another state.

But people like Loomis need to go. It’s clear the sun has set on his tenure as a GM in the modern NFL.

She certainly has a responsibility to those that buy tickets to attend games.

This disconnect is the message board posters want action NOW!!!!!! The OC wasn’t fired 10 weeks ago so the owner sucks.

The owner is ultimately responsible for the finished product delivered by any company, whether that is retail, tech, cars...or a football team... the owner has a responsibility to ensure that the product being bought by the customer is as good as it can be.

This is a big picture view. You want the owner (fyi most of the companies in the industries you publicly traded so you are conflating “owner” with CEO) to set the tone, to hire good people and let them do their jobs and in the case of pro sports not pinch pennies on salaries. If the people hired are not getting the job done then reevaluate after the season. So you really want an older lady that inherited the team to micro manage? Firing coaches in mid season? Really?

The team went in for a playoff push this year, in 20/20 hindsight that was a mistake. And before you say something about you knew boards like this an are a bubble world. Most fans aka the people that pay for the product were good with that, they’d rather make the playoffs.
We will see what happens in the offseason, what if any changes are made.

Constant threads whining about the owner is just stupid at this point.

I would argue that this is her first time facing ANY real decision as an owner. Its clear to anyone who watches the games that DA and PC are not very good at their jobs and should be replaced sooner rather than later. We aren't losing because our roster is terrible, we consistently get out coached. This is proven by the fact that we are 6-0 vs bottom of the NFL teams and 1-8 vs any team with any type of pulse. Our roster is good enough to overcome bad coaching vs the worst rosters in the league but anytime the other team is of equal talent, we get out coached and lose.

Its also clear based on media statements that Mickey feels zero pressure to win right now and thats on the owner. If so he wouldn't be saying things like "we have the right people in the building". Hopefully that was media speak to support the current staff publicly and behind closed doors they are actually weighing the decision to move on. But if Mickey knows his job is safe no matter what happens, he has no reason to move on from DA and conduct an actual coach search.

I also believe that this isn't strike 1 against Mickey either. Your HC just walking out on you is a huge strike, especially given that he is back in the NFL. It shows he had no trust in Mickey to get him a roster that could compete without Brees. Strike 2 was hiring DA after a lazy coaching search in hopes that he could keep the SP era alive. Its since been proven that DA cannot do that and cannot compete with any teams that have even a half decent roster. SO strike 3 for me would be not moving on after this season.

If Gayle doesn't apply pressure to the situation, then that makes her a bad owner.
