With Sean Payton and Drew Brees both gone now, the training wheels are coming off again. Also, he will have a much better group of wide receivers to work with this year compared to last.

Are you expecting him to be conservative and focus on protecting the football and reducing turnovers like last year?

Or do you expect him to return to the gunslinger mentality, which would increase his number of passing TD’s but probably increase his interceptions as well?

Jameis was a very fluky 5-2 last year

I imagine he'll regress to the mean of being a .500 QB, and our defense will be good enough to push us to a couple games over 500

Payton was constantly drilling into him "don't make a mistake by doing something stupid" and you could tell in his play that he looked like he was playing in front of an overbearing father

I hope there is some type of balance between both. Obviously you cant have Jameis revert back to his shitty decision making but its honestly part of what makes him him.

Last years Green Bay game was a thing of beauty. He was able to make better decisions and made some great playmaking with his legs.

Too many games last year where it felt like he was way too conservative stalling out the offense. Not making plays because you are scared of turning it over aint always great either

I’m expecting him to not have to be Drew Brees to win football games with the New Orleans Saints.

How he plays will be determined by how much the Saints need to rely on him to win those games.

If the the Saints have a legitimate running game, if the OL is solid and protects him and if the Receiving group plays like the look on paper this will be a fun team to watch.

If none of those things pans out and Winston has to shoulder the team and make it happen by himself it’s going to be ugly.

I think the odds are he’ll be the former not the later. He’s proven he can win with lesser talent around him. Maybe not as flashy or pretty as some like to see but the win is all that matters.
That said I wouldn’t have him on a fantasy team.

I liked Winston better when we played against him. Loved watching our Defense rattle him out of his composure. Coach Payton kept him composed better than anyone in his career. I'm not sure what to expect but I'm hoping that Allen and Carmichael can continue where Payton left off....

When Sean was suspended, it seemed to me that Carmichael stuck with the run more than Sean did. Maybe I am creating things in my head. I am looking forward to Winston this year.

If the the JW that started last year is the real him….the Saints are a double digit win team. Totally different list of weapons this year. Trust your teammates and win.

Yep. He’s trash.

People look at 5 wins, 14 TD, 3 INT and parade it around like Jameis didn’t have 2 hyper efficient games and a bunch of complete duds. Literally, GB and WAS last year were so removed from the norm in that he was averaging a TD like every 4 throws. You can’t extrapolate that because it’s so rare.

I expect him to be more focused, more mature, more disciplined from what he has learned from his mistakes. I also expect him to be very good with all of the weapons he will have to pass to.

I think hes just another Fitzmagic or Fitztragic. He will do some amazing things then. Completly Blow it.

Between Sexually Assaulting Uber Drivers and Stealing Crab Legs. I dont know what to expect of him. Saints should Flip him for some picks. Except no one wanted him. That should tell you something right there.

Saints are dumpster diving with Sexually Assaulting Crab Stealing Jameis.

Well our WR room was so shitty that it led Payton to quit on us, so I can see why he was overbearing on Jameis

Jameis also had no WRs or TEs and a disheveled OL

Nobody is saying our offense was great last year, but the issues weren't Jameis-related.

Slow, it's the same trolls saying the same crap and they will never stop.
Only thing I expect this year is a total buy in and his best effort ever.
Yes. Ever. He knows this is likely his last best shot to become a successful starting QB.

Yeah he's also cheap as frick for a QB so it's not like we're screwed if he fails. He's also young enough that, if he does turn the corner, we have a QB for 5-7 more years.

The last few years have shown a pretty different Jameis Winston as a man. He always seemed like such a headcase in Tampa… like he couldn’t go more than a few months without doing or saying something head scratchingly stupid or weird (eating W’s etc). I have not seen that since he came to NOLA, which seems pretty important… whether that makes him a better player, I can only hope, but it’s better to see that he has changed in that way than not.

Lol. What is your problem, dude?

This is a perfectly legitimate question and topic for discussion.

I think you are more likely to get the Koetter/Monken Winston then what you saw under Arians. Arians prefers to run an offense that focuses on attacking downfield, which would cause less experienced QBs to throw more INTs and take more hits (sitting in pocket too long). I do not see the Saints suddenly going to this type of offense under Carmichael; especially when your WR group is built more around precise route running than stretch the field.

You have to admit, you do start a lot of shitty posts. But, you are correct, this is a legitimate question and topic for discussion.

Ironically the Bucs really took a step when Brady took over more of the offense and stopped this
