What you mistakenly misinterpreted as play calling that didn't suit Hill's abilities was really Payton simplifying the reads Hill would have to make in order to limit his mistakes (turnovers)

But do you really think having him turn his back to the defense accomplishes this? It seemed like it took him an extra second to reorient himself, which could be avoided by keeping him in the gun so he can keep his eyes downfield.

Those UC play fakes were no problem for Drew because he he always had a mental image of where every receiver would be.

This accomplishes 2 things: Entertains Sean with trolling media. Keeps the fire lit under Winston.

If Winston puts in the effort to want to be the Saints QB he will be the Saints QB.

Ding ding ding. If the report is even legit, it's Sean creating a sense of urgency in Winston right here before training camp starts.

Non-mobile quarterback prone to boneheaded decisions with the worst turnover count in the league since he came into it despite missing a full season limits a playbook much greater than someone with rushing upside and limited passing ability.

Kurt Warner said the same thing in his video breakdown. I guess a two time league MVP, Super Bowl MVP & Hall of Famer at the position doesn't know what he is talking about either. STFU tard.

You do know that playbooks aren't a zero sum game, right frickwit?

You can add things that suit Taysom's abilities and expand a playbook. The argument could be made that Jameis limits the playbook due to his lack of rushing upside and horrendous decision making ability.

Critical thinking 101.

Have you been living under a rock? Payton did just this but it's idiots like yourself who are too dumb to understand this. The playbook expanded the minute Payton began to use Taysom in an expanded role.

The entire premise of using play action & rolling the pocket with Taysom in the passing game was to make use of Taysom's mobility while making his reads easier because of his lack of in game experience as a passer.

It's ironic that some of these same posters who keep wanting to talk about Taysom's running ability as a reason he should be the starter yet keep bringing up Winston's history of turnovers, tend to forget that Taysom has an issue with putting the ball on the ground himself.

There were two reasons Payton implemented more rollouts with Taysom under center into the game plan. One, rolling Taysom out when the play design called for deeper, longer routes helped buy time & prevented Taysom from having to deal with traffic in the pocket. Most running QBs will take their eyes from downfield when they feel pressure. They immediately want to run which can lead to ball security issues when attempting to navigate that pocket traffic. SOUND FAMILIAR???

Secondly, the rollouts cut the field in half in terms of Taysom's decision making when it came to his reads. Easier decision making made it where the chances were lower for Taysom to force a ball into traffic & possibly having it picked off. Nine times out ten, Payton drilled into Taysom that if his first option wasn't there on his rollout read, then use his legs to get a positive gain & move on to the next play.

To ForeverEllisHugh who doesn't understand what the concept of play action & why Payton decided to utilize this concept more with Taysom, the reason Payton did so is simple. First off, Payton knew that opposing teams would expect him to lean on the round game more with an inexperienced starting QB. Why not take advantage of that? Next, when a QB is able to perform a good/great play action fake, the end result is it sucks up the LBs & safeties taking them out of position to defend certain route concepts. The result is usually a much easier throwing lane for the QB & sometimes it leads to better separation for the intended receiver.

ForeverEllisHugh, you need to understand that if Taysom can't perform the basic footwork & timing involved when it comes to using play action (turning his back to the defense as you put it) in an NFL offense then he has no business being an NFL QB plain & simple.

And you can keep saying this worn out line until you are blue in the face yet it doesn't make it true. Has Winston made poor decisions with the ball in the past? Yep & not one fan or poster here will say otherwise. We all know this.

The truth is, that no NFL QB can throw for 5K & 33 TDs in a season being a HORRENDOUS decision maker. Would you consider Drew Brees a HORRENDOUS decision maker? He threw for 5K multiple times but he also threw 22 INTs in 2010. He also came close to 20 picks in 2007 (18) & in 2012 (19).

Hill being chosen to start while Brees was out went much deeper than just Payton picking his favorite between the two backups.

Everyone already knows that CSP is a HUGE-MONGOUS RACIST & thats the ONLY reason Hill got the nod.

Anyone asking for proof that CSP is a Racist. I’ll give it to you now: Coach Payton is WHITE & therefore he is a RACIST! End of Debate, Case closed - CSP is MOS-DEF a Hate-mongering, Racist, Homophobic, Bigot & just like Global Warming, It’s not up for discussion so just accept it & politely move along!!

Thanks. There's a good portion of posters who won't engage in conversation. They'll read & downvote a post even if it's factual just because it doesn't fall in line with what they believe. It isn't just on this board. It happens in every forum on this site.
