It’s not really debatable that this was armstead and ram worst game
Vikings hit Brees 7 times, all from their DE (Hunter 3, Griffin 3, Odenigbo 1)
Vikings sacked Brees 3 times, all from their DE (Hunter 1.5, Griffin 1.5)
Griffin and Hunter had 4 of the 6 TFLs
Do you have any pressure stats from the DTs? They don’t show in the box score

Wanting to attack the interior doesn’t mean that is how they won
Armstead and Ram were completely bullied
This is Watford’s grade for that game lol
Jeff Duncan
Watch the game. Or don’t.

PFF isn't the best way to try to win an argument as that shite is highly questionable at best if you ask me

not at the amount of money they gave him. it's not so much peat i dislike, it's that contract. i feel like they bid against themselves a little bit
Agreed, but sounds like KC were going hard at him; so who knows realistically.
Ultimately, its a 3year deal looking at the numbers. If he underwhelms, its not too long and a waste of a few million. If he plays consistent it'll be a decent deal. If he plays elite like he's shown flashes when he's healthy, it'll be a very good deal.
The big overall picture, his contract didn't limit us in shoring up other places (manny sanders).

Warford gets pushed right back almost into Brees in one of the clips you posted where Ram gave up a sack. It's easily a sack by Warford's man if the other guy didn't get him first.
I mean it's an NFL player, presumably told by his coach, that the Saints got beat on the interior versus the Falcons and that was their plan.
And exclusively looking at sacks doesn't tell you whole story as you know. This is like people saying Chase Young is garbage cause he didn't get sacks at the end of the season when he had multiple impact plays against Clemson.

Citing PFF to grade OL play
Easiest way to show everyone you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about
Before you hit submit, some of you should read your message out loud and see if it sounds as fricking stupid as it is in your head. Because I can assure you it is incredibly stupid once you post it on here

Pff only matters when you agree what their numbers say

I don’t understand what the argument is here
That is always the plan to beat Drew Brees.
What are we talking about here & why is this news to people?

Ok I’ll just report what fricking Danielle Hunter himself said while you continue to post PFF scores about Warford’s run blocking grade and not his fricking pass blocking. You’re cherry picking Les, again...
No one is saying Ram and Armstead didn’t play bad but so did fricking Warford and that CANNOT be denied. He played like shite. The difference? It was out of the ordinary for Ram and Armstead. It had become a common occurrence for Warford to play like shite.

I was at the game. My belief during that game and after was that the interior got abused.
Interior OL getting abused affects how the Tackles play. That is a fact.
And Sean Payton clearly agrees that IOL was the issue.
I'm not going to ever rewatch though.
It can be both true that Armstead and Ram had a bad game...AND that Peat and Warford got eaten alive. Both can be true.

The same coach who has given us a fricking Super Bowl and led us to three straight division titles with numerous Pro Bowl and All Pro offensive linemen and yet Lester fricking Earl knows better
I love you, Les but you’re cherry picking cuz you’re melting the Saints didn’t pick your guy. They didn’t pick Queen and you’re pissed. You value LB more than OL and that’s fine but Payton does not. ALOT of teams don’t.

Was at the game and it was 100% the reason we lost.
The Interior got dominated.

You are either being dishonest or blind. Anyone that watched saw who wrecked that game.
The saints only ran 54 plays, and Hunter and Griffin combined had
8 tackles
3 sacks
3 TFL
6 QB hits
1 PD
The duo affected 39% of our offensive snaps
You don’t need to use the Vikings game as a evidence that warford and peat played poorly at times. But to try and blame them for that game and tie the need to an interior lineman is pretty fricking funny considering what went down in the dome that day

Most questionable PFF position grades are those for offensive linemen, IMO. They seem to have no way to base a grade on which linemen accomplished their assignment and which didn't when a poor outcome occurs (understandable since they can't know the presnap scheme for particular plays) and just assign blame to the closest lineman whether the defender was his assignment or just an unblocked man he lunged at to try to keep from killing the ball carrier.

Are there people who didn't see peat and Watford get abused in that game
Posted on 4/24/20 at 3:09 pm to geauxtigers87
Right why is Warford getting punished and not peat. Peat giving up pressure was causing all of them to get beat having to help over.

I’ve never claimed them to be infallible
Was simply responding (in another thread) claiming the iOL was the downfall of that playoff loss.
The tackles played much worse. It’s not debatable if you rewatch that game.
