NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler revealed that an AFC exec told him Shough was a hot name on day two, and if New Orleans didn’t pick him, he still would’ve been off the board shortly after.
"He was a hot name Day 2. Sounds like he would have gone pretty quickly if not for New Orleans. He's got some of what [new head coach] Kellen Moore [likes], intelligence at the position, good makeup. Will need to improve his accuracy at the next level." AFC exec on Tyler Shough (ESPN)

Bro, they had studied and analyzed every game of his and every other draft prospect prior to this draft. You need to trust them more. It's infuriating the way you and others just disregard the expert opinions based off of uncountable hours of research and data that our resident ST armchair GMs grace us with.

Because there's no level of crazy that's too crazy for this board. I should have learned from my own lesson but there's absolutely nothing on this board you can take at face value with the level of stupidity that drowns it daily

Yes, to the Jets at 42. It’s comforting we were in good company

People are judging based on overall quality, not quality available. This draft was extremely weak at QB, but teams need them anyway.

L.A.
We were the dumb organization to draft him.

Tyler Shough wasn't the dumb pick
Vernon Broughton early in round 3 was the dumb pick. I can't find any draft pundit who had him as anything other than a 5th rounder.

I think the Broughton pick was due to Bo Davis’s personal connection.
Now, that could be a good thing ( he knew the player’s abilities beyond testing or film) and we got a steal Or,
it’s a terrible thing because our D line coach advocated for him as a lazy pick bc he knew him and didn’t analyze all of the prospects fully.
Time will tell.

his nfl.com profile says 4th round

Nope, saints were the only team to draft him, so that means he could have been picked up as an undrafted FA

”What a STUPID pick! They could have gotten him in the 5th round!”

I'm keeping receipts. I bet we'll be picking a QB in 2026. Book it!

We literally have his college D-Line coach on our staff that knows everything about his game and the scheme we are putting in. I am more comfortable getting Broughton where he was drafted than any other player outside of Banks.

Not exactly going out on a limb predicting a rookie 2nd round QB isn’t going to show out. And honestly I can’t recall seeing one post from anyone saying it was a great pick, he’s going to be a star. The rational, unemotional position I’ve seen is to just let it play out, give it a chance.
Are you a Saints fan? Looks to me that you’re hoping he fails, so you can pull out your receipts and say, “I told you so!” Weak.
