Let me preface, if you’re anti trading up always, then ignore this thread

Trade 2023 1 and 2024 1 to move to pick 12- select Jalen Carter

Trade 2023 1 and 2023 2 to move to pick 15- select Lukas Van Ness

Trade 2023 1 and 2024 2 to move to 18- select
Calijah Kancey

Trade 2023 1 and 2023 3 to move to 22- select Myles Murphy

Trade 2023 1 and 2023 3 to move to 25- select Bryan Breesse

This is the weakest DL draft I can remember. Carter is the clear cut best player in the draft, but is swarming with red flags. Worth 2 firsts if he starts to slide? Maybe. Cancey is probably the only one I’d pull the trigger on in this thought experiment. Even then, he’d be an outlier with his size. Probably Murphy too. I think he’s underrated and an extra 3rd for a pass rusher is fine if he hits.

I’d go:
No
No
Yes
Yes
No

The only ones I'd move up for are Van Ness, Murphy, and Breese. However, I think you're overvaluing future year picks. To get to 15 this year would likely take this year's 1 and next year's 1. To get to 22, we're probably giving up this year's 1 and next year's 2.

It’s hard to say. You’re right, I was wrong about 15th pick, that would cost 2 firsts.

It doesn't matter what we want, Loomis is going to find a way to trade up.

All the pieces fall into place for a ridiculous Saints trade up.

The Saints go into every draft desperate for an opportunity to trade up. This one is no different. Philadelphia knows they can buttfrick Loomis on a trade anytime they want and guess who is sitting there at #10 with the Saints' pick? CJ Stroud falls past Houston and 2 and Indy at 4. The Saints see that red jersey and gray helmet with leaf stickers on it and can't help themselves. They trade next year's #1 pick and a bundle of other assets to Philadelphia get their guy!

No for anyone that isn’t a qb (which we don’t need anymore). This team needs an influx in quality across the board. We’re not one defensive player away from being a contender.

This. We clearly value draft picks different from other teams. There’s no way we are using all our picks this year.

A T-Rex isn't worth our 2nd next year when we can likely get the guy from Northwestern with the African name in the early 2nd this year.

Yes to Van Ness, no to the rest. I want Kancey but I think his size will scare some teams so he might fall right in our lap.

I just don't want to move up in the first and give up another first. This team no longer has that luxury.

I'd move up for Carter if he falls pass 10. I think he is just that dominate of a player and will be a dominate anchor for 10+ years

this ^^^^^^

we will give up 24 1st and pick 29 to move up to the late teens, most likely the 17 or 18 pick.

its a virtual certainty with this FO

they will then swap everything pick have after the 4th round, and maybe a 24 3rd rounder, to get another late 4th round pick

Hearing if we move up it’ll be for this guy.

I don’t want to give up our third this year, a good talent will be there, especially at running back.

Would fire Mickey on the spot and kick him in the nuts.

Would consider it.

There's a good chance he'll be available at 29 so no

No to both of these as they could be there at 29 also.
