So it's low IQ to think this team sucks? Give me a counter argument to how this team is actually good?

Did Dennis Allen and Pete Carmichael become better coaches?

The D is a year older.

The coaches are less accomplished.

The only "upgrades" would be Carr and "health."

Everything else has gotten worse. The D is older and less talented and we're not going to have Kamara for a big chunk of the year.

Do you really think Carr and two no-name DTs are pushing this team into the playoffs?

This is how I know you just hate DA, no matter what he does. Idk how you watched that game and blamed anyone other than Brees and Payton and our piss poor offense

1. Fire Dennis Allen and replace with an up and coming offensive coach

2. Release/trade as many bloated contracts for older players as possible this year and the rest next year to finally get out of the cap kicking hell

3. Start a complete rebuild and search for the next top 10 QB. Hint: Carr is not it.

4. Stop trading up in the draft and begin accumulating picks. Most importantly, accept that the window for winning anything of significance is long closed and act accordingly. If your goal is to maybe sneak into the Wildcard to get blown out in the first round, I guess this strategy is ok. If your goal is to contend, it's stupid. Until you have a top coach and top QB, you're just in purgatory. Some would rather win 7-9 games than go 2-15 and actually get a chance to find the next Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, etc. Not me.

So you think the fans will put up with the saints self imploding for 5 years and still fill the dome up to see a team get their arse kicked every week……ok great plan bring back the paper bags. Tell me who this up and coming bright mind that is clamoring to come to the saints, and name me a qb better than Carr that was attainable …….also bookmarked this thread for future reference

You do know we are on this track but we just delayed it a bit, right? It's why I hate this argument.

Allen was handed a mess, if by year 3 we aren’t relevant then you fire him. We were in most of the games we lost last year just failed to close the door in several games. I think we are a 11 win team next year and will build off that. I would like to see a different OC but the team is far too talented to fail with a competent QB which we have now

Like I posted yesterday

And it all goes back to this coaching staff. There's no way anyone can convince me they can get anything out of Carr. They're too incompetent. Should've tanked and started the rebuild now.

What mess was he handed?

He completely botched every major decision he made.

Winston leads us to a come back win in game 1 with a broken back. Then Allen allows him to play with that injury but then blames him for being arse.

Then decides that he's no longer playable after he's healthy. It's weird.

Then there are the countless in game bad decisions he made. He's so bad.

A big enough mess for Payton to fake quit

His goal is to protect his job. Does a Superbowl look go on your legacy at the end of the day? Hell yeah

But he is not a saints fan, he doesn't buy tickets or merchandise, he doesn't watch and call in to fan shows in YouTube.

It's his job, he is hoping to improve enough to keep his job for another year and get paid. He is not a saints fan and it's a job

Mahomes was drafted 10th overall, and was nearly drafted 11th. You can be a middle of the road team and find your guy, it just takes balls and a good situation.

Yeah, you're likely right.

He decided to upgrade our pathetic offense by...firing the TE coach. Yeah, that will work. Carr won't do shite with our conservative and terrible playcalling.

Guess we'll see.

He then proceeded to fire one of our two best defensive coaches in Richard and Nielsen bails.

He replaces them with some washed up has beens.

fricking Todd Grantham? Seriously? The same dude most of this board made fun of for years?

And some failed Browns DC and another dude who wasn't even in the NFL last year.

Dennis Allen controls the defense. None of these guys matter.

I get optimism in the offseason but ya'll are in for a rude awakening.

It's called being a fan.

Loomis deserves to be fired as well for mortgaging future years and not ripping it down to the studs for a total overhaul and rebuild.

A fantasy for fans but obviously not one our front office shares. Sure we can keep bitching about it, but it changes nothing.

Would you be clapping the same tune for Payton if he was still here? Payton was the one mortgaging the future until last year

Geezus, dude. Do you ever stop bitchin'?

You have flooded Pels Talk recently with incessant rants against BI, CJ, Zion, JV, Herb, Willie Green, Griff, etc, making doomsday-only predictions, attacking past decisions & calling for trades, cuts & firings. Now, I notice you only discuss negative aspects regarding the Saints brass and roster.

I am not saying you can't. I'm suggesting you shouldn't, for your sake. Constantly being a miserable frick is just not healthy.

also am of the opinion that Allen is an extremely overrated DC.

His defenses absolutely wilt at the worst times.

In the last 8 games no one scored more than 20 points against the defense. In the last 10 games the defense held teams to an average of 14.5 pts. a game and he ran the 9th ranked defense in the Nfl with a shite load of injuries. With all due respect you don't know your arse from a hole in the ground.
