Just saw on the news this morning that she is from the town where I live now in central Kentucky originally. She said she is hoping to use her "fame" to try to do a charity event to raise money for kids with cancer and said she was touched by the story of Bengals player Devon Still.
That's awesome. She seemed like a very nice person who handled herself really well when that "man" did that. A lot of women would have absolutely gone off on him. Her team just scored a TD right in front of her and she was excited about it. Then, the WR throws HER the ball and this guy elbows her in the face and steals it from her. In our society today, you might have easily seen her fists and hair flying. But, she laughs about it and after asking for the ball accepts that he won't give it to her.
Rare, actually.
The "man" on the other hand is a complete jerk and there is no way that he can be defended. Absolutely pitiful. He should be ashamed.
And, I feel that way about men who steal baseballs from kids and other people in baseball stadiums. I get that there is often a fight for a ball, but you have to be reasonable. Go for it from your place but don't run over someone else to get it. And, in this situation, the intent of the Bengal WR was obviously to give the ball to the lady.

Man yall still trashing this dude?
I cant believe I gotta say this shite twice, but thats a true whodat. You do not have to treat visiting fans with respect, you cant whoop up on them or cross that line. But she shouldnt even be in the super dome, much less be taking balls home.

It's trash like you and the ball stealer who give the entire fanbase a bad name.

She bought a ticket, didn't she?
Shouldn't be in the Superdome? What?
The ball was obviously meant for her. "Super Fan" elbowed a woman in the face to take it from her. Bad form.
Still trashing him? That's the first thing I've said. He blew it.

All the internet tough guys on here are funny as hell. I love the "If I was there.. or If it was me.." You would've done the same thing all the good folks did around them. NOTHING.

I just saw a clip of the incident. The guy is an idiot, but many of you are blowing this WAY out of proportion, especially since the woman is laughing about it 2 seconds later.
This man get's it. Dick move, but let's not speculate on a man's life and reputation over this. It's a damn BALL.

if a man chooses to be a dick, fine but he's a dick and has to take the wrath for it. Proper thing to do was to snag the ball but then give it back to her and she knows he dominates her still.

Dick move.
I understand that maybe he was caught up in the moment and tried to catch the ball. But come on, after seeing that it was for the Cincy woman, I would have given it to her.

Pookiebear, put your Mom in place of the woman,if a man did that to your Mom, who I hope you respect, do you still feel that this was good conduct by the man. If you do than there is no discussing this with you for you have no morals in with which to understand why this has so many people upset.

Didn't they say the man gave the ball to her in the end?
Posted on 11/17/14 at 9:21 am to JayJay2
Unfortunately not. He was approached by Media and asked if he would give her the ball and he said no. The Saints organization gave her a ball.

That's not even remotely true.

I understand that sometimes people just get lost in the moment, and if the guy would have realized what he did, and who the ball was meant for, and gave it to her with a simple "my bad," then no one would care and the story would have a feel good ending.
This is akin to people at parades jumping in front of others to snag stuffed animals and such. It's not for them, but they just want it anyway and probably after a few minutes pass, they forget about why they even wanted it.
It's a shite, me-first mentality that many of us find just disappointing. Especially when you see a grown man act that way.

Man who cares who it was meant for... He wanted it, he got it.

Hopefully he catches another stray football... right to the face.
