the REAL reason payton is leaving - weak ownership

everythjing he says keeps hinting that he doesnt want to stop coaching, but feels he has no choice but to step away. so with that in mind, all that leaves is, he no longer wanting to coach "here" because owner wont do anything
an absentee owner that wont step up and demand the league step in and muzzle goodell and stop the cheating.
the truth is, she hasnt done jack shite after the no call, and the clear ref bias and we get different treatment with covid issues then any other team.
if i were payton i think i would rather coach for someone who cared and had my back and stood up for the team, and thats never going to happen here with gayle.
this also brings some clarity to the second part that makes no sense that he would even be interested in the dalas job.
normally payton would never put up with a meddling owner like jerry, but in this case, who, other then jerry, would have the balls to tell goodell to frick off to his face and threaten to file suit against the NFL for cheating.
this is where i can see payton thinking he could tolerate working for jerry as long as he was useful to get shite fixed with this cheating BS.

The Real Reason is that the Pelicans are Gayles baby and with Brees retiring it’s a great time to transition to investing more into the NBA team.

Name one owner that's been critical of the league and Goodell.
They all seem plenty happy to keep quiet and count their stacks.

Goodell works for the owners, he’s making them more money than ever before. That’s his job. Fans thinking owners will “stand up to him” are dumb.

IMHO SP is leaving because he is a Newlywed and can help his daughter's sports broadcasting career if he lives in a large media market. He doesn't care to grow old and gray in the NOLA area.
His heart ain't in it no more.
If Gayle can manage to hire exceptionally talented people to run the Saints, there's no reason for the Saints to turn into the Detroit Lions or the New York Jets.
I am concerned about the Saints being sold and moving out of town at some future point. NOLA can't compete with other locations that would be best-suited to serve as the home of an NFL franchise.
Back in 1967, NOLA was more commercially important than both Dallas and Atlanta, and was perfect for a new NFL franchise. Here in 2022, NOLA is trending in a direction that makes the city less attractive as an NFL city.
There are many good reasons that I can think of when it comes to answering the question "Why is SP leaving?" It's a combination of his age, his family commitments and the nature of NOLA itself compared to larger and more attractive cities for wealthy sports celebrities.

I lol’ed. with that said, Diana Russini all but said the same thing earlier in the week. She stated Sean wants an owner that will take the league to task.

I think he wants to try working in the media and entertainment world. This is not a spur-of-the-moment desire either. I think he will get in the media and if he likes it, will never coach again. He may get the itch and return to be a coach. Every coach opening position until the end of time will have his name involved in it.

What do they expect an owner to do that Jones and Kraft couldnt?
Its not about an owner. You would have to have a majority to do anything. As long as its not hurting their bottom line Goodell wont be going anywhere.
I just dont get the narrative as a weak owner. I really dont know what else they could do. What makes them think the league wont just pick on Seans next team as well?
