Anyone else think now with Taysom focusing most of his energy at the TE position he could turn into a top 5 weapon at the position (from a receiving standpoint, not blocking). Other than Kelce, Kittle, Pitts, and maybe Waller, tough to think of other TEs more dangerous from a YAC perspective. If he can refine his route running and really get some chemistry with Jameis this off-season, I would not be surprised to see him have a monster season from that position

He's certainly dangerous with the ball in his hands. His hands (catching) leaves a lot to be desired, though. If he can clean that up and refine his route running then he'd definitely be a headache for opposing defenses. May be a tough task coming off a major injury and at his age, though.

If he put all his focus and training on it I could see it. He’s a pretty stout dude and fast as hell. Just get the route running and catching down.

I think thats asking too much. He doesn't have a great catch radius like the top TE's nor does he look great on contested balls but he has great speed, YAC and moves in the open field.

I think he can excel at lining up all over the field and in the backfield to get good matchups. A good weapon if used right.

I saw that with a Lisfranc injury like the one he sustained, it could be 10-11 months before he reaches full speed. That puts him around week 12 or 13 before returning to 100%

The dude is a hit away from a career ending concussion. He might do great while he's out there, but how many hits can he realistically take?

In 2019 he had 19 catches, 234 yards and 6 TD

If he doubles that, it’s a success. That would be close to what Jared Cook averaged with the Saints.

Bruh literally every player out there is a hit away from a career ending concussion. You know this is football right?

Biggest problem with this is that Taysom would be the smallest TE in the league by 40 pounds. I’m sure they’d have a bulk up plan but his frame really just isn’t that big. I honestly feel like he may be better suited to playing WR as a big slot.

I agree. I don't think TE is a good fit. We need WRs. I don't see why they just haven't stuck him there permanently.

I foresee alot of rocket passes from Jameis getting tipped up by Taysom for INTs

I've been saying for years that Taysom is perfect for the H back position. Let him get an equal amount of touches in the run and the pass game. He changes the whole dynamic of the offense with him on the field 100% of the time.

Can't that be said for any player?

Drove me crazy to see him come out of the game so often. CSP sometimes could not get out of the way of his own big brain
