Who decided that the ramps there were not "fan friendly"?

Estimated to cost $100 million, the initial phase will include removing 80,000 square feet of interior ramps and installing a more fan-friendly system of escalators and elevators.

If they get rid of the ramps then half the crowd won’t be in seats before the end of the 1st quarter. Who the frick thought this was a good idea.
ETA: This also kills my skateboarding dream.

as long as they don't move my seats I really don't give a shite what they do. The group around me has been together for 15 years.

Will they finally remove all of the 1970's checkerboard seats on the 2nd and 3rd levels?

This is my question. I am in the 300 level end zone area & I am dying to have the new black seats with drink holders like the entire 100 level & Club 200/300 have. It would make the entire Dome look so much better.

the ramps are good for two things:

1) sneaking a smoke during the game
2) rolling down them when you were a kid

It doesn’t say all ramps. It says 80k of square feet will be removed. All the newer stadiums are built similar

Yeah lots of newer stadiums dont really have ramps and there isnt an issue. As long as the have enough escalators around it will be fine.

Edwards, in his statement, said "the state has committed $90 million to this project, over the course of several years, and I am confident we will be able to meet this obligation."

Why is the State paying for this?

The 'entire 100 level' does NOT have seat cup-holders... i.e.NONE of them in the end zones !

Really??? Because the dome is a major tourism revenue source for the state. Modernizing it will keep major events coming to the state.

I’m pretty sure that logic has been debunked.

Can you explain what you mean by this? Do you think the design will be sub-par? Why would you think this?

The numbers are easy to look up. What do you mean logic?

Exactly! The state is already paying Gayle Benson $400 million over 20 years since 2009 just to stay in NOLA and yet she is worth $2.8 BILLION. Why does she pay for it? Why doesn't the taxpayers of metro NOLA help pay for it when they are the ones that will benefit? Seems to me that the only thing the rest of the rest of the state will get from this is a tax bill.
