You want your flowers for this performance? Go for it. Carolina has a worse defense than the last 5 teams we played iirc, and our defense held them to 7 points. I wonder how many games Rattler wins when he isn't constantly having to play from behind.

Shough had a great game and surprised me. He wasn't this accurate in college. Let's see if he can keep it up against the better teams left on our schedule.

Just gloss over the fact that we literally played from behind in this game and Shough put us ahead with his down the field play and playmaking

You're going to die on this hill aren't you.

If your eyes couldn't see the difference between the two as preseason went on, and can't see it now, I don't know what to tell you.

Rattler is never going to be anything in the NFL beyond a backup. He's Desmond Ridder.

Shough you can tell fairly obviously there is something there. It may not pan out ultimately, but the talent jumps off the screen.

And he was accurate his last year

They are a strange bunch

There’s more posts about Rattler than there is Shough. Look at some of these dudes’ post history, every post mentions Rattler. Can you sticky a singular Rattler thread maybe?

Just gloss over them having 7 points on their first drive and the defense pitching a shutout afterwards to let him get the lead. He had 5 drives to get 10 points in the first half, wowzers

Probably true.

He got his arse whooped against one good defense, and beat a bad one by scoring all of 17 points, and if you're going to say we left points out on the field buddy buddy you know Spencer had that same bad luck too.

62.7% in the ACC isnt anything to write home about. Its not even in the top 25 in the country

Is this because Shough is white?

this is not a good look for you. Shough looked phenominal when you watched him play, escape, make throws down field, throw with accuracy and his composure.

I literally complemented him and no one seems to care about that.

His final drive was a game killing 7:30 minute drive that ended in victory formation at the Carolina 9. Total domination and control.

All things he showed in preseason but Rattler still got the call. Moore was an idiot for that.

All anyone wanted to do in preseason was argue statlines, when it was clear actually watching them play that Shough was far ahead.

Speaking of, can we stop putting Taysom Hill in the game?

Yeah it was great. We used Kamara more, shough made some Great throws, and instead of having to rely on juwan johnson to catch a ball in the end zone we got to take a knee to win.

Quick look at Saints remaining schedule
quote:

Let's see if he can keep it up against the better teams left on our schedule.

7 games left on the schedule. 1 against a team with a winning record (TB), 1 against a team with a .500 record (Car), the rest are 2 vs Atl, Miami, NYJ & Tenn

Also, looked at scoring defenses. No top 10 defenses for the rest of the season. The best defense they have left to face is ranked 11th (Carolina). Shough also faced the #2 scoring defense (LAR).

Conversely Rattler faced 3 top 10 scoring defenses (Sea @5, Buf @10, & NE @6); and a few bottom 10 defenses (NYG @ 27 & Chi @28)

So shough should win a few games and look good doing it, since hes better than Rattler, right?

Carolina is not significantly worse on defense than the Bears/Patriots/Bucs where we a complete disaster on offense.

You’re ignoring how important consistently moving the ball and not having turnovers and three and outs helped the defense.

Yeah we only scored 17 points (would’ve been 24 if not for kneel downs) but we also had 400 total yards (our previous high was 330 versus the Giants), no turnovers, and only two three and outs. That helped out the defense immensely as far as TOP and field position.

We left points on the board from pity kneeling at the Panthers 7 yard line.
