fill that role next year.

Until we find a franchise QB, next year will either still look like this year, or we sign a vet and we are mediocre and suck longer.

It's a shame this is all that we got, but unfortunately there's not much value in a guy who is not on contract after this year.

We weren't keeping Shaheed more than likely but for that price I would have really considered just letting him finish here and making a play for him in FA.

How many 4th and 5th round picks do the Saints hit on? I would have demanded a 3rd and 5th. A 1 for 1 trade isn't going to build the team. Shaheed is a starter in this league, and now you must replace him and get another worthy player. Can the Saints do that with a 4th and 5th?

Good Luck Shough. Nobody to throw to. We will be getting players from the bargain basement unless we hit on these picks and find hidden gems.

I don't know. I mean he was an undrafted free agent originally.

I wasn't even expecting what we got.

Very good chance they were going to have to replace him after this year anyway

Getting a 4th and 5th for a UDFA is a pretty good deal

The question is, can the Saints replace him and get another worthy player with a 4th and 5th?

That’s not relevant.

He didn’t have much value because he is a FA next year. So the return was not very good at all.

That’s not the same thing as saying the return will help this team moving forward though. A 4th and a 5th likely won’t make an impact. But I guess it’s better than nothing.

This offset the Vele trade. We basically traded Saheed for Vele.

Fantastic!

Incoming...

With the first pick in the 2026 NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints select Bubba Bumblefrick, the raw o lineman with tons of potential, from Big Backwoods Community College Trade School and Taco Emporium.

Not really. That's not how this works at all.

And Shaheed was going to leave this offseason. Getting something now for him is a good thing

None dude. They hit on none. Or at least they are to dumb to realize if they even do hit.

mmmmm no it didn't. Nothing alike.
We still have Vele and praying to baby Jesus he now gets used more. Vele is under contract and cheap for several more years. Shaheed is gone for two draft picks and looking for his big contract.

Nothing alike.

Shaheed is averaging 11.6 yards per catch after averaging 16.6 his first three years. Take away his 87 yard TD and he’s averaging 9.5 y/c. He’s going to kill in Seattle but is a waste here in a walk year

You won’t even notice he’s gone in this offense
