He sold that condo over 2 years ago. He bought a luxury spec house that a developer built that was on the market for over two years near the JCC. It was poor quality construction and required a ton of work to address builder quality issues.

I don't doubt this ... I know a ton of NOLA lifers who are fed up with the city and looking to move. People that I never thought would ever leave the city.
Count me in that number.

I grew up in NOLA in the 80s and 90s and the place has fallen apart. I dont understand why anyone would live there now. I looked at expanding my business with a brick and mortar there in the last few years and decided not to, primarily because of crime but also because demographics are not good and getting worse.

HAD the coolest mancave.

BTW this needs to be a bigger story. NOLA is becoming completely uninhabitable and this would be high profile enough to finally get it some attention.

Here’s the real story - house uptown has already been sold. They are in the process of moving out now to the new condo in the four seasons.

Will split time between NOLA and their beach house for the next year. Crime is a factor also the fact that the house was a poor quality spec and has been a money pit. Crime was a factor but not primary.

A sabbatical has been a consideration for for 3 years - he promised his wife when he was engaged. My guess is he’s coaching next year.

He even said he was moving into the 4 seasons at the press conference.

That should've been the first clue to the team, especially if someone was building a house.

He will be coaching somewhere "nice" in a yr or two.

I said when this happened that it was the wife's doing.

Where did he meet the wife?

There is no crime in NOLA since they removed any and all confederate statues.
Those nasty racist granite statues animate and come to life at night; robbing, raping and murdering law abiding citizens.

Can’t blame her. New Orleans is arse. Just going to New Orleans is a task that I dread.
I feel the same way. If the Saints ever leave, I'll have no interest in going there ever again.

And the Saints will ask for little to nothing for his contract rights.

I can believe this story. This City has been run into the ground on every level. Who would want to live in New Orleans or in a situation where you need to spend time in New Orleans?

The city leadership (mayor) denies that crime is a major problem. And, the DA is actually contributing to the crime problem by limiting prosecution and pushing crazy leftist policies.

There is zero chance of change when this is the case.

I agree. The sooner people realize this the better they will take it.

Gayle benson is grateful to payton. She looks at this situation in the wrong light.

He is leaving your team to go coach somewhere else to try and beat you. You should get a healthy compensation.

It just won't happen.

Not sure why the downvotes. Asher is a nice enough guy but has very limited sources inside the Saints and Pels. And there’s reason for that.

I don't understand this line of thinking.

Why? Why would the Saints not better themselves? Especially being in so much over the cap? I'm just blown away by the idea of this. Are the Saints not a professional organization? Pretty sure Payton himself would understand the Saints have to do what is in their best interest. Especially considering he walked away from his contract.

I don't get this and until it's proven I refuse to believe this.

Pretty sure Gayle would defer to the GM when making these decisions.

Loomis and Payton may have a good relationship, but he has a professional job to do. I'm sorry, but getting compensation is one way to help with the cap.

Me too... and I usually like to keep my tax dollars in Jefferson. It's bad enough I have to work in the city.
