Yeah it's not like he was going to go in and smash all the high tech stuff denver may have and go back to eraser boards lol.
But if any Saint fans are up there draft day...pull the power cord please. Sometimes low tech is best tech!

Well the world of analytics has really grown exponentially since his time in the league so this checks out. I bet the saints have better analytics now also.

he was out for one year.

There are probably hundreds of analytics/models used by the 32 teams, from hybrid approaches (like what PFF does with grading) to purely analytical/data-driven models (like which college behaviors are more likely to lead to NFL success or success within the particular system).

I just wonder how much more efficient it is to use analytics than it is to talk coaches, teammates, equipment managers, trainers, etc. when digging into a players background. I'd want to hear from as many people as I could if I was showing serious interest in a player.

Things like RAS or just physical profiles matter (the Saints would be idiots to draft Nolan Smith, for example)

as an edge rusher?

I mean does get to the ball quick, but he could get bottled up by tackles because he isn't that big.

he plays hard which is important just some pause there because of his lack of size.

So you are mad that he’s telling the truth? If anything you should be mad at the Saints for not keeping up.

He is pandering to the press and the Bronco fanbase by casting dispersions at the expense of the team that gave him the keys to the car and carte blanche to operate.
If you are too stupid to realize this that's your problem.

Unless we have a complete change of philosophy, he can't do what we want our edges to do. That's why we draft 6-4, 270+ freakshows with long arms and good athleticism.

A team who runs a more fluid 3-4 system could use him, but he's a wasted pick on our team/D.

I understand that things are the way they are, but IMO Peyton loses a lot of credibility in how he handled his exit. If he’d been straight forward from the get go all this would be fine, but he acted like he was retiring and thinking about commentating when it was obvious he wanted nothing to do with the 2022 Saints roster and wanted out without the ugliness of demanding out. Then it comes out he already had flirted with Miami and got them in trouble.

Just textbook being the bad guy without wanting to be the bad guy. It doesn’t work like that for me. Go up in the press conference and say you’re stepping down because you feel like the team has too much of a hill to climb, you don’t think we have adequate tools to succeed, you want to be with a top tier QB, etc. it’s not that complicated.

Maybe try unplugging it and plugging it back in because they haven't hit shite in the later rounds. Denver has zero depth across the roster

Don't the Saints play a lot of nickel?

I mean I'm not trying to crap on Smith at all.

Just trying to see the fit.

The entire Saints organization was effectively built by him. If he wanted a bigger, more efficient Analytics department, he would have created it.

I'm really hoping the "smartest guy in the room" falls flat on his arse.

To be clear, I don’t blame him for leaving. Just your exit needs to reflect the way you act on your entrance. Dude left Nola all holy, then we find out about the dolphins and now comments like this. Makes you seem phony to me.

Personally, from the start, I knew what was going to happen (although I predicted the Cowboys). I wasn’t even mad since I knew we’d go after picks. Also i can’t hate anyone that doesn’t want to live in New Orleans these days.

If we took a little less I'm glad. Glad he went to the afc.

He purposefully weakened the teams position by telling the press what the Saints front office was willing to settle for.

As the head coach of the saints for 16 years or whatever you would think he would have been making sure that he was getting the analytics that he needed. He worked for a multi billion dollar operation.

If our analytics were behind it was because HE WAS the driver in New Orleans and nothing went on without his blessing.

Since he was in charge here why didn't he do something about it? And if the analytics were so great in Denver, it certainly didn't help his predecessor.
