Not a lost cause. Had some unfortunate injuries that derailed his positive momentum. Also, was on a joke franchise. Dude was very talented at one point. He brings the wood and the energy. Let’s see if he’s healthy before we write him off.

Here is the mentality that leads to these kinds of posts:
1. Every free agent signing is THE key ingredient to bringing a guaranteed Super Bowl win.
2. Every free agent loss turns a sure Super Bowl into a sure #1 overall pick for the next season.
3. Therefore, every free agent signing that is definitely not the key ingredient to the Super Bowl is a bad signing that will lead to the #1 overall pick next season.
Way too many people think like this.

Typically good winning franchises sign good players, not DB’s who can’t cover and will do nothing to improve the backend and don’t create turnovers when we were a bottom 3 team in that category last year. It has nothing to do with the cap which I don’t give a frick about, or the contract.
Abrams is a bad pro player. Therefore he’s a bad signing.

I mean if he is agreeing to only play STs and he never sees the field on defense, it's not so bad.
He may not even make it out of camp.
But yes, if he sees the field on defense, we're fricked.

It's almost like you guys don't even know that teams sign guys to strictly play special teams.
I don't work in the Saints personnel dept, but this signing has special teams written all over it with the ability to play safety if needed. Probably a cheaper version of Justin Evans who was awful last year.

We needed to replace Justin Evans and Daniel Sorensen. Lonnie Johnson and Jonathan Abram are those replacements. If we draft a safety that is better, you let Abram goes.

Kaden Elliss who ATL poached was 6'3", 238lbs.
Like ^ is saying, he is a justin evans/daniel sorensen replacement. That's fine because those two were definitely not very noteworthy. Could do worse, could do a lot better.

He’s a depth signing and shouldn’t see the field, but Maye is often hurt and Honey Badger is old and not so great. He will likely see the field at some point on defense. I don’t think he’s a terrible player, but he’s not great either. My issue is his immaturity, his injury history, the fact he was a 1st round pick that was waived before his contract was up and he was then waived by another team.
He may not make the team and May end up being a camp body. It’s just a lot of red flags for a ehh player.
