Yea 59% completion percentage. Perfect

Receivers had a LOT of drops most of the time, and couldn't get open the rest of the time. I think some of you guys underestimate just how bad the Saints' receivers actually were without Michael Thomas in the fold.

Jameis was way too gun shy and I'm guessing that was at least partly due to Payton.

I'm sure Payton was in his head, but you also can't rule out that the WRs were absolute dogshit at the beginning of the year. I remember seeing replay after replay and none of the WRs were getting separation.

Realistically, Winston had two games pumping up his stats in the first 7.

Outside of the opener (5 TDs, O INTs), he went 9 TDs and 3 INTs over 6 games.

Take out the WFT game as well, and he had 5 TDs and 2 INTs in 5 games.

Since he didn't really play a full game in the TB one, he went 4 TDs and 2 INTs in his other 4 games.

He also threw for over 200 YDs in only half his full games.

He is not as bad as some believe, but others really need to pump the brakes on how great he was last year. He will hopefully have more weapons this year, but to be honest, it simply is a guessing game at this point. Would have made more sense to lock him in on something like a 4 year deal with the maybe $25 million guaranteed and basically burner years in 3 and 4 that allowed him to be cut with minimal dead money. That would have been the best for the Saints.

Great value on the Winston deal.

Still have money to make another deal or two.

Under the circumstances I agree.

Does anybody know what QBs are coming out of college next year?

I am not tying last year to him when projecting. Sean Payton was conservative to a fault in his 7 games. I think that was the gameplan, considering how elite our defense was and how terrible our receivers were. I think Jameis is a top 15 QB when running out of a traditional offense.

This seems silly. So you can nitpick and adjust stats all day long.

This is a great deal for the Saints. If he doesn't work then it's not a huge amount committed. I believe he is better than most of the other options at this point. You can still draft a QB if one falls or you can always draft one next year.

My only concern is coming back from injury. I always have this concern with any player. However, most players these days seem to come back stronger.

Who did you want that is available?

If you really want to have an honest conversation about Winston, you should take out the 158 throws that did not result in Interceptions and lets look at the 3 that did
