Good question. Seems to be well liked in the locker room from all reports. I hope Armstead decides soon.

not bad. I wanted DW, but to resign Winston and keep the picks and cap space is a great fall back. I still think we should draft Pickett if hes there

Like usual the Saints get stuck with the ugly chick. Looks like I’m gonna be watching a lot of Bengals games this year.

Can’t believe there are people dumping on this signing. I mean I can because of the rum dums that post here, but still.

Winston played fine last year with legitimate practice squad WRs and, imo, a hyper conservative scheme around him.

For this reasonable price, how can anyone be down on this?

People just want something to complain about. Winston is still a huge question mark, but he is likely the best of the reasonable options that were left from veterans.

It doesn't mean he's a great fit, but people acting like he's garbage are ridiculous. He has talent, and if he can put it all together can do well.

In the end, only time will tell, but they got him at a good rate and it allows them to build in other areas of need with the remaining money.

Good.

He's no worse than anyone else available and knows the system.

I’m good to go with this. Draft a QB and let’s ride. Before the bucs dirty hit on him he was playing well.

Ever think that the "hyper conservative" scheme was a necessity due to Winston's propensity to panic and throw picks?

It's like some of you all forgot that this is the same guy we looked forward to playing when he was in Tampa. He's heading into year 8. He is what he is: a fricking lame who turns the ball over. The conservative approach was likely necessary because we didn't want Winston to, you know, THINK because when he does bad things happen.

No, because we were playing conservative Brees' last couple of seasons.

Winston is still young, has a tremendous amount of upside, knows the system, is well liked, tries to be a good leader, and is being paid less than half of what most starting QBs are making. You could do a LOT worse.

Did you ever think it could have been more than just one reason

He's not available yet in the NFL and I don't see him playing in the college ranks.

Is this some kid playing Jr. High ball we don't know about yet, or drunk message board typing that's too lazy to spell check for one letter?

And if not, let's take a guy from an offensive coach, who hasn't had spectacular offensive numbers and pay him over 20 million a year while sticking him with a defensive coach.... Genius
