I hope he keeps rocking his patented undershirt that always gets ripped during the game

If I recall, a few seasons ago, he quit on the team that drafted him high (Rams) with an outstanding offensive coach that viewed him as their best option/starter.

Not exactly a team player, character or locker room guy with that tract record. I realize he is signed for depth behind Kamara, and still has to make the team, but for a team that for decades over emphasized the character of the guys they add to the fragile locker room dynamic, Akers does not fit the typical Saints MO.

Not like they signed him to a deal they wouldn't walk away from in a second.

Fortunately we don't need him to be our starter

The guy can read a defense. Won't outrun many but healthy a very good #2 RB.

I remember his recruitment. After he spurned LSU at the last minute the Tigers signed Clyde Edwards Hilliare as a consolation prize. Worked out pretty good.

Camp body? He might instantly be the second best RB on the team. RB2 is wide open.

Just happy we have some decent options behind Kamara this year

Akers vs Miller vs Neal vs Clyde vs Yarns

Alot better than when we just had the ghost of Mark Ingram or the last ounce of juice Jamal Williams had

I've been waiting for them to sign a vet. Akers isn't a bad Dart throw.

He is still young and farther away from that Achilles tear.

Has had a better career than Miller so far who majority of the board loved and thought would be a star when drafted lol…

serious question... are you out of your fricking mind??

b/c if you think a guy who's torn BOTH Achilles tendons within the last few years is our 2nd best RB then we are absolutely frickED at RB

Valid point, but it’s an admission Miller is a bust and we can’t count on much from Neal.

But that’s where we are as a franchise, counting on scrap heap June signings to help.
