We have more than $30M in cap impact at TE already and you think we should add more to it?
that's cute you talking like you know what our cap numbers are.

That's my least favourite part about Loomising. What if there's a steal at TE with our 2nd or 3rd round pick?
These kick the can moves have definitely prevented us from taking best player available in multiple drafts, because we HAVE to plug holes with his retard strategy.
We really need a clean slate and a smart young GM who builds the right way.

mean did you see some of the contracts for tight ends this yr. Guys you've never heard of have gotten 7 mil.

I wouldn't target one high unless he is the clear bpa, but I'm guessing we still draft one at some point (or, if bpa and position never marry, grab a few udfas).

This draft class actually has a lot of tight ends

JJ is literally the only TE on the market on the right side of 30 who is getting paid exactly what he was expected to get paid. Moore has proven that he knows how to use a receiving TE, so maybe we give him the benefit of the doubt? If JJ was garbage as some have cried, we would not have signed him as we don't need his capspace.

Easy to get a more talented and cheaper one in the draft.
This is so bad. Just awful GM. He has to go.
JJ would have been lucky to get 5m on the open market.

It’s really not that he’s a horrible player. I wish he would get on the field more but he’s actually decent for an UFA but why give him 3yr $30 million???
you offer JJ $6M/year and if he’s not happy you let him walk.
Exactly.

It is what it is. As much as I agreed with the Young situation, I disagree with this move.
But we have to hope it works out now, and I really hope it does.

Juwan Johnson

Over the past four seasons, his 18 touchdowns rank eighth among tight ends and his 9.0-yard average depth of target ranks fifth, illustrating he is not just a check-down outlet but a true downfield threat at the position.- juwan Johnson
Look at what a guy like Farrell got.
Farrell agreed to a three-year contract worth up to $20.25 million with $11 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
This isn't a bad contract. You can bitch about him dropping passes or getting hurt but if he can stay healthy the contract is fine. Dyami brown got 10 mil on a 1 yr deal. Tutu Atwell got 10 mil.

Other than his relatives and Loomis, the only people excited about Juwan Johnson are the people who’ve never seen him play.

Why would you want to keep continuity from a shitty 2024 season?

It's clear they are making "win now" moves and think they will be good this year. We've seen this before.

We must keep some continuity from our 5 win team.
Probably should have kept Dennis Allen to maximize continuity
