There’s a thread from that poster who’s name starts with a T that said the first was either Banks or another player and the belief was Shough would be the pick in 2nd round either the morning of the draft or the day before.
Can’t believe his name is alluding me because almost 1/2 his posts are about guessing draft picks correctly

I never said his name wasn’t talked about. He obviously visited us and we were linked to him multiple times. You can go look at the pre draft threads. The vast majority of this board was against Shough at all much less the top 3 rounds. There was not a single poster saying “we should draft Shough at 40 overall”.
Like WW said there was one inside guy claiming he knew we would draft Shough. But that’s not the same as saying he wanted us to draft Shough at 40. Show me one pre draft post that said “I want Shough at 40”. You can’t yet everyone is now claiming it to be a great pick.

This is called "revisionist history." For weeks, the talk about QB was between Dart and Shough and if they were going to trade up to get one of them. When Dart was selected by the Giants, that settled it. It was just a matter of waiting to 40 or moving up to get him.
