Harper ain't going anywhere. He's the least of our worries on defense.

Our front 7 is gonna see a lot of changes. We're gonna have to retool most of our d-line. I don't see how we can keep paying Will Smith the type of money he's making. I'm not sure if Franklin or Rogers are gonna wanna come back. Whoever the new D coordinator is gonna be might not want either of them. I like Galette, but he was GW pet project. Jordan is really the only guy I can say for certain will be back.

I see Casillas, Wilson, and Dunbar staying. Vilma...I'm not so sure about. Herring and Shanle...pffftttt...

I understand that Harper is a liability in pass coverage, but he plays a pretty good game otherwise. He plays well against the run, and can pressure the QB.
Is it within reason to try to beef him up a little, if necessary, and play him at weakside linebacker. Then bring in a safety better in pass coverage?

He's too one dimensional at a position that requires multi-dimension talents. Most importantly you can not be a safety in the NFL and have terrible coverage skills. Harper is out of position too often in the secondary.

Yes, Jenkins got burned a few times yesterday, but he was left alone on those plays with Davis. I'm not ready to write him off yet based off of a down year; remember that last season he was nationally touted as the next great safety.

I sure hope so

agreed

Rogers has said he wants to play here. Frankly I haven't seen anything about.

He was our most consistent pass rush this year. He's going nowhere. There's a very bright future for him

Vilma's going nowhere. He played through injury and still played well (not to his past standards but hey, injuries do that). I'm not sure what people are seeing to say that he didn't, but I think it's more the "speak because it sounds good not because it's true" syndrome. Dunbar played nicely in his absence, but he was not better than Vilma.

Herring was a waste and Shanle has been for a while. We need to find a star at this position. It has been ignored long enough.

We HAVE to get a better 4 man pass rush. NOBODY on the roster gets close to the QB without blitzing.

My fear is that we will have hugh FA problems. Brees, Clolston, Arrington, Nicks for starters.

if roman harper is our starting safety next year then we will not win 8 games, i like the guy but he is absolutely terrible! every big gain Davis had was from him missing a takcle in the open field.

We need to resign Brees first. I know not as easy as it sounds. Hopefully we won't have to use the tag on him. Then we can try to re-up Nicks, then franchise Colston, because if we don't he will walk. Somebody is going to give him big money.

Could the saints lose Colston and still be ok? I think so, especially with the emergence of graham. Colston seemed to regress a little bit this year

I definitely don't think they over pay for Colston
Colston regressed?

You have to give me some evidence on this one, I actually thought it was one of his best seasons minus the injury, but that made it all the more impressive how strong he was after it

I'd hate to see Vilma go, but I believe he is due $5 mil next season. Dunbar has played well in Vilma's absence and would be cheaper.

After Spag for DC, who would be next choice, Del Rio or Nolan?

wow.... I don't know, maybe every big play was because Jenkins was in single coverage on Davis? Well all except the one in which it was Harper and Jenkins came in for the tackle and caused two missed tackles at the same time.

....I'm not hating on Jenkins by the way. He should never have been put in single coverage that often on one of the best TE's in the game

i think he was talking about the 2nd to last big play before the TD at the end.

Jenkins came up and took a horrible angle(he wasnt covering Davis, he was playing deep) and Davis was able to rip off 20 extra yards. It's a small thing no one is talking about. It would have been huge considering the time and where it would have put them on the field.

I can already tell this is going to be the longest off-season of all time.
