DC may be leaving for St Louis
Glaring holes on the defense need to be filled
Brees contract will be a big issue
Draft will need to provide some defensive help
Don't have the FA list ready yet, somebody post it and I will add it to the OP

Lot of big questions facing the Saints this offseason

honestly this is probably the best I've felt about our LBs in awhile. With a little more pass rush/a safety that can cover a bit more I really like Dunbar, Tez, Casillas going forward continuing to learn from Vilma.

Peace out Williams...

The Brees contract is a formality. He was already talking about what they're gonna do in the offseason, and next year.

36 combined games from your safeties with 0 ints is awful. We need to be better there but i doubt they actually make any changes. Jenkins and Harper will be starting next year.

We HAVE to get a better 4 man pass rush. NOBODY on the roster gets close to the QB without blitzing. Thats why I havent been as hard on Gregg Williams as others this year. Without all the blitzes we'd get picked apart

Will Smith is stealing money. And we can't be relying on UDFA and safeties to provide sacks.

Our DEs should be embarrased by their performance this year.

BTW, did Sed Ellis play this season?

the disgusting thing is the sheer amount of talent we actually do have on the DLine

Sed Ellis, Shaun Rodgers, Will Smith... to a lesser degree Cam Jordan and Junior Gallette.. all these guys can be really good DLinemen.. I don't know what the disconnect is. Coaching?

The Saints defense is too finesse I believe. They need some studs in the front seven. Mean guys that want to bring the pain. LB's, defensive linemen. Big and fast needs to be the focus.

Great post

Obviously if Williams stays something has to be done with the FS position cause what they are doing with Jenkins is not working

I read where it was said that the Saints D was the toughest in the League to prepare for. Unfortunately with little pressure from the DL they are easy to adjust to

LE made a great point about replacing Shanle with an athletic LB that can cover the flats and the opposing TE

Brees and Nicks are the FA priority

If Williams leaves Spagnolo would be a nice addition and he has Giants ties to Payton.

I feel pretty good about this offseason

I honestly cant remember one play Ellis made all season...not one

I actually thought Rogers ended up playing pretty well. I think he signed a 1 yr deal. I wouldnt mind signing him back.

Im done wainting for Will Smith to actually be anything other than mediocre. He has NO pass rush moves. He bull rushes every play. He has 1 double digit sack season in the last 5 years.

And i know they wont actually make the switch, but Dunbar was way better at MLB than Vilma this year. He's much more of a thumper than Vilma.

Maybe it was just Vilma's injury, we'll see...

Don't forget Colston. He would be a huge loss.

Could the saints lose Colston and still be ok? I think so, especially with the emergence of graham. Colston seemed to regress a little bit this year

I definitely don't think they over pay for Colston

We face a shitload of uncertainty this offseason. Brees, Nicks and Colston all have expiring contracts. All will be looking for big contracts. We have a enormous amount of money invested in a loser defense that can't get it done. No 1st round pick because we wasted it on a injury prone RB that we don't need.

It's time for Shanle to hit the fricking road.

I disagree.

I definitely dont feel comfortable with Meachem, Henderson, Moore, or Arrington being our number one WR. Colston came up huge this year and can beat a team's top corner
