I think our corners are going to be in for a long day in that building unless our pass rush really hurries Goff. I do think we will show our pretty well.

I think this game is very winnable. Something tells me the Lions come in this game thinking it's going to be an easy win and get smacked in the mouth.

the point total is high on Draftkings and Bovada
49.5 on DK
50.5 on Bovada
but the Lions have a new OC. This guy wants to run the ball and use a lot of 12 personnel. They have Gibbs and Pacheco at RB.
I think the Lions defense especially in the secondary is vulnerable but if they want to play more ball control on offense and chew clock that's not half the formula you need for a shootout. I think the Saints want to be able to run the ball better also.
The betting splits on DK show that the over is getting bet tremendously. I don't mind being contrarian
Lions 24
Saints 20
don't really care if we lose to the Lions or Ravens to start out. I pretty much expect it but feel a lot better about beating he Lions than the Ravens should an upset happen. Lamar Jackson has a sick AF record vs, the NFC in his career.

I think it's a terrible matchup for us.

Very tough on the road opener. Some crazy happens to them and not us. Crazy sacks or our RB has a HoF game lol

It’s TBD if Dan Campbell can win without his coordinators. In fact, he’s on red alert for fraud watch this season.

Lions missed the playoffs and beat one team with a winning record last season

The only place I see us with an advantage is our WR group over their defensive backfield (with injuries). Even that is minimized without Tyson.

True!
I don't think the Lions will be a threat in the NFC this year. They don't have much depth on defense. With them being shorthanded in the secondary for this game I think that doesn't really mess with what they want to which is run the ball more on offense.
If the Saints cannot keep it close it will be because of turnovers or giving up explosive plays. The betting splits have the over being bet at a ridiculous clip on DraftKings though so they would be losing a lot if that happened. It's Week 1 and USUALLY offenses start kind of slow. I don't bet games but rather pay attention to point totals and spreads because I play DFS.
Week 1 is hard to bet on which is why I think there is something to it being an under game. Unless spcial teams or defense score more points than we would think

When I use to bet on football I stayed away from the first few weeks.

You're dead on here. Not only for the reasons that you mentioned, but because coaches are barely playing starters in the preseason (if at all). That benefits defenses. 2025 week 1, the average game total was 43.1 points. For the season, it was 46. A lot of the score predictions in this thread are too high.
