I wouldn't hate baker as a fall back on carr.

Me either.

Although I think Baker would make the same impact on this team as Carr or Dalton would. But him being the cheapest option is probably the best one.

I'll try to be optimistic about bringing in Mayfield.

This would be a clear move to begin resolving the cap situation. Plus, the tank is in.

Bringing in Baker would at least give the offense an identity. May not be the identity we want, but it would be one.

Baker under center for the Saints would give some of us older fans flashbacks to the years with Bobby under center calling out his WRs in the middle of the field.

I support bringing Dalton back instead of signing Baker.

Baker is going to be cheap, which is the most important variable.

I said weeks ago he’s one of three QBs I’d be looking at that shoujd come super cheap. Saints actually being smart for a change.

It’s past time we get our cap situation cleaned up. It’s cost us several good young players already. And Allen isn’t anything special as a coach to

Or maybe, the Saints are putting this out there to let Carr know they have other options to prevent him from holding us hostage while he makes a decision. This is a smart move whether they actually have interest or not.

I think the best option is re-sign Dalton (Provided he will re-sign at a reasonable price and I think he will) and shoot for a QB in the draft in the 3rd.

Dalton is your QB1 for 2023 with Hill as primary backup (While still playing his swiss army knife role)

Let your 3rd round learn (i know, from who? ) and get his feet wet in the NFL and see what you have going into the 2024 draft. If there is nothing worth taking a shot at in the 3rd there will be a host of journeyman FA QBs to choose from as an emergency QB.

Are you nuts? They just won the Super Bowl. You gotta throw in this year and next year's 7th.

But the ankle worries me. I'm not giving up that much draft capital for a QB with one good wheel.

So you want a qb who is extremely inaccurate in the short passing game to be the qb in an offense based around the short passing game? Why do y’all think Jameis was not our qb. The scheme did not fit what we were trying to do as an offense.

I am in the ride with the Red Rocket and draft a replacement until you find one camp but kicking tires on QB's when you need a QB is not embarrassing.
