The Saints have also shown significant interest in Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr. They met with Carr for two days last week. However, it was announced over the weekend that Carr would not waive his no-trade clause, even though New Orleans was the only team to meet with him. He'll now be released by the Raiders, where New Orleans should still be among the teams who could land him in free agency.
If they can't, the Saints could turn their focus to free agent Mayfield, reports Breer

Or maybe they just pull the trigger on a reset like a reasonable franchise would do. Instead of having this delusional idea that we can sign a mediocre QB and still compete for a championship. I wouldn’t be calling morons if you genuinely believe this team will compete for a championship because you might actually be the moron.
This delusion that we are a mediocre QB away from contending for a Super Bowl might be the dumbest take I’ve heard from any of our fans.

You hit the nail on the head. These people never have any alternatives.
Look at the evidence.
2022 offseason: Saints take a big swing on the top QB available on the market. They lose because the Browns took a bigger and more stupid swing.
2023 offseason: Saints take a swing on the top QB available on the market. Thye swing and miss, but its only strike one. They have 2 more strikes.
Both offseasons under this current regime, they have gone after the top available QB. What else do you want? You want them to tank to get a high pick? Who will be the first people to complain when they stink in the tanking process and lose games?
